#1: More On The Bad TNA Rating

More on the bad TNA rating, Former WWE star to ROH
Submitted by Brian Cantor on Wednesday, November 9, 2005 at 4:06 PM EST

-- In what makes matters worse with regards to the TNA Primetime Special's
disappointing rating, PWTorch.com reports that the Jarrett vs. Rhino match
actually drew a smaller audience than the first quarter hour. Since growth
from start to finish is typically viewed as affirmation that fans are
enjoying the program and anticipating the conclusion, the figures reflect a
medicore endorsement of the main-event (and the show as a whole).

Although Spike TV (and TNA) was hoping for a number in the 1.5 ballpark, it
still intends to give TNA more primetime specials. The 0.9 rating was a 23%
spike from what the network had been previously doing in that timeslot,
indicating that there is some benefit to these events. What Spike will not
do at this time, however, is grant TNA a permanent primetime slot.
Considering the stigma attached to professional wrestling, Spike TV would
need to see much stronger ratings to shape one of its nights around TNA.

-- Lance Storm will make his Ring Of Honor debut on 12/3 at the promotion's
next Manhattan event. He will also be filming a DVD for the "Straight
Shootin'" series.

In a backwards sort of way that is a good thing....proves the "Jarrett
theory" is crap.

More like "people didnt watch the show....end of discussion".

What a major failure and that's why they're in the Spike TV doghouse.
They shining star of Spike is UFC. TNA is now an afterthought.
Wonder how many more days before they sell to WWE.

Hopefully the rating was going up throughout the show until Jarrett's
entrance.
But the again, JJJ will probably blame Rhino.

Well then, Jarrett should do what HHH did and stay off TV for a long
spell....just to prove a point.
