I hadn't figured you as one of the people considering the denizens of
the WTC to be little Eichmann's.

Well, at least he's upfront about his moral relativism. Alas, a man I
used to admire has become a bizarre and sadistic crackpot. Who knows, in
his fevered mind that opinion alone could make me equivalent to
HITLER!1!1~!!

But so what? Being called anti-Semitic by Alan Dershowitz is kinda like
being called racist by Al Sharpton. In both cases, the accuser has
diluted the terms to the point where they have no power over the
accused. Rsfck them both.

Brilliant!

Turn Israel loose. They might win the first war since WWII.

No, I just figure that there is a continuum of civilianality and that
some civilian deaths are more tragic than others.

You and your elk are cute with that "terrorist" word. I suppose that we
can simultaneously believe that civilianality is a nuanced continuum,
but terroristality is a clearly defined concept on which to base your
judgments of whether the civilianality continuum ought to be applied.

Do you deny the obvious truth that a "civilian" who lets terrorists hide
rockets in his house is a less tragic loss than a 14-year old in an
pizza parlor?

I think the world is pretty comfortable with using the actual word
"terrorist" to mean those who actually plan or carry out the acts.

"Civilian" is what's getting harder to define these days.

That is the most perfect article/commentary by Alan Dershowitz ever. The
librul Israel haters are not going to like it and will pretend that teens in
a nightclub in Haifa are identical to families that support the guys with
the artillery piece in front of their home in Lebanon. But liberals are
insane by definition.

>>>> Do you deny the obvious truth that a "civilian" who lets terrorists
>>>> hide rockets in his house is a less tragic loss than a 14-year old
>>>> in an pizza parlor?
>>>>
>>>> I think the world is pretty comfortable with using the actual word
>>>> "terrorist" to mean those who actually plan or carry out the acts.
>>>>
>>>> "Civilian" is what's getting harder to define these days.
>>>
>>> These days? Israeli citizens have been walking around armed with
>>> automatic weapons for quite a while.
>>
>> Whew! There you go again just firing up fiction.
>
> Fer sure. I was waiting for a cite of some kind, but then I realized
> he was making it up.

He is going to wait til Michael Moore tells him what the real story is.

Heh. Hardly.

For example, how many cry and weep (except for their families, of
course) when the US "civlian contractors" are killed in Iraq or
Afghanistan?

Are NSA technicians manning listening posts civilians? They wear no
uniforms nor carry weapons. I guess you've probably long ago written
them off your list of "civilians" in the war zones.

It's harder and harder on both sides to determine "civilians", yet the
news constantly harp about "civilian casualties." That's the point
Dershowitz is making.

>>>>>>>> I hadn't figured you as one of the people considering the
>>>>>>>> denizens of the WTC to be little Eichmann's.
>>>>>>>>
>>>>>>> How does one confabulate working in the offices of Sachs-Goldman
>>>>>>> with storing Katyusha rockets in the house?
>>>>>>>
>>>>>>> Or is it you figure the US to be just another terrorist group?
>>>>>> No, I just figure that there is a continuum of civilianality and
>>>>>> that some civilian deaths are more tragic than others.
>>>>>>
>>>>>> You and your elk are cute with that "terrorist" word. I suppose
>>>>>> that we can simultaneously believe that civilianality is a nuanced
>>>>>> continuum, but terroristality is a clearly defined concept on
>>>>>> which to base your judgments of whether the civilianality
>>>>>> continuum ought to be applied.
>>>>>>
>>>>>
>>>>>
>>>>>
>>>> The point is that you and Mr. Derhsowitz would have us believe that
>>>> the word "Civilian" is only getting harder to define on the
>>>> "terrorist" side, and not on the "good guy" side.
>>>>
>>> Heh. Hardly.
>>>
>>> For example, how many cry and weep (except for their families, of
>>> course) when the US "civlian contractors" are killed in Iraq or
>>> Afghanistan?
>>>
>>> Are NSA technicians manning listening posts civilians? They wear no
>>> uniforms nor carry weapons. I guess you've probably long ago written
>>> them off your list of "civilians" in the war zones.
>>>
>>> It's harder and harder on both sides to determine "civilians", yet
>>> the news constantly harp about "civilian casualties." That's the
>>> point Dershowitz is making.
>>>
>> No, Dershowitz was clearly applying his analysis to only one side.
>> Applying it to both sides was the point *I* was making, thank you very
>> much.
>>
>
> Well, duh. When you're fighting a war in a far distant country, there is
> only one source of possible civilians -- unless you do count CIA, NSA,
> etc. technicians as civilians.
>

9/11 changed everything.
