#1: Shortly After the World Cup is Over, War Begins in the Middle East: Coincidence?

Posted on 2006-07-19 22:45:34 by Bosch

While the media of the so-called civilised world are debating about the
outcome of the World Cup final, the Israeli government launches its
attack on Lebanon.

A leading hardline Iranian cleric claims that this is no coincidence.
He accused Israel of exploiting international public attention on the
World Cup in order to commit "dastardly deeds" in the Gaza Strip.

What do you think? Is there any truth to the Iranian cleric's
accusation? After all, that's an old trick: wait for the moment to
strike when others are distracted.

Nonsense. The Palestinians started this war, by killing two Israeli
soldiers and kidnapping the third. They are getting what they asked
for. Has nothing to do with football. Unfortunately the Palestinians
don=B4t want peace and that=B4s a fact. L

Reason enough to believe it is a coincidence.

Does your wise cleric think the Israelis forced the Palestinians and
Hezbollah to capture Israeli soldiers?

You conveniently forget the shellings and missile attacks which
preceeded the latest dustup. ZioNazis don't want peace -- war works for
them.

God you're naive. You think war doesn't work for Fatah, Hamas,
Hezbollah, the Baathists, or the house of Saud?

Not at all, assclown. The aims of the zioNists have never been more plain.

Those are some mighty disparate groups you cite there, drooler. How do
they share a common interest in war? Be sure to provide details and
concrete examples.

I disagree. The point raised in that post, though admittedly
controversial, is both in topic and interesting. Your view of what is
relevant to rec.sport.soccer seems somewhat narrow to me.
