The rating for last night's Saturday Night's Main Event can
only be called incomprehensibly bad, doing a 2.65 based
on the fast nationals. The final number, which will be out
in a few days, probably won't vary much for this. It finished
last, going against rerun programming, although none of the
networks did any numbers last night. Worse, unlike the first
one, which did a 3.11 and was a bomb, you can't even use
the "Hulk Hogan is the biggest draw to mainstream fans and
he wasn't there" excuse.

LOL. Hulk Hogan isnt a draw anymore. God I wish TNA could get the
marketing and exposure the WWE has so people could realize how crappy
the WWE is.

I have kept my word and not read about what happened on Smackdown or
SNME. I am talking about it though but as long as I speak negative then
it's ok.

Perhaps the old 11:30 pm timeslot might be the difference maker. Most
folks are out on dates around 8 PM.

Vince is lucky all the marks in europe and shit still pay out the $$$
for live events or WWE would be close to bankrupt within a couple years.

Is this surprising to anyone? WWE's been in the toilet for like
what...3 years? Vince should just pack it in, give the ball to Heyman,
tell Steph she won't do any better. Unfortunately, the only time Vince
actually "listens" to people is when his position is threatened.

No wonder I want to support TNA in the worst way. Samoa Joe should
just get the title outright and REALLY start putting TNA over in a
major way.

BWAH-HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!
Nitro scored higher ratings in its final days!
I hope the trend continues.

Wrestling isn't cool. It hasn't been for years. It doesn't matter what
kind of product they put out there, the ratings will not rise.

I think it's more that what the WWE's doing now and has been doing for

The problem is HH isn't the same HH we knew back in '85/'86. Let's face
it, Hogan is wrinkled up and way past his prime. Heck, the guy can
barely walk anymore. The Hogan/Orton match at SS is just an ego booster
for Hogan. Why does Vince allow this match in the first place is beyond
me. The Hogan/HBK match from last summer was pathetic enough.

Of course the ratings sucked. Look Saturday night is the worst ratings
grabber of the week. Then you look at the product WWE has been putting out.
Then there was wrestling what every night up to Saturday; Mon-Raw, Tues-ECW,
Wed-MSG, Thurs-TNA, & Fri - Smackdown. Jesus how much wrestling do we need.
Plus SNME isn't special anymore. With a PPV every 3 weeks between WWE & TNA.
Then WWE doing crossbranding every week. There is nothing special with a
mixed card. Plus NBC really isn't pushing SNME. Its just a cheap filler for
summer. Hell ABC was advertising that it would put on any show as long as it
didn't cost over 1 million for the hour. Saturday night just isn't good TV.
The only thing Saturday night has on good is HBO debuting a new movie.

VKM and Co. need to rethink their schedule. Its not quanity of shows its the
quality. Drop the damn brand crap. Drop Smackdown since its on a 5th rate
desperate network. Expand the SCI-FI show since its getting ratings. Go for
the 1-2 punch on Mon-Tues. Stay loyal to NBC/USA/SCi-FI. Drop the PPV's down
to 10 so you can have some build up and interest. Then move SNME into the
rerun spot of SNL. As long as VKM has 5-7 hours to fill, but his writers can
only fill about 3.5 hours you will still get watered down crap.

TNA needs to go 2 hours soon. If they are even looking at the ratings of the
WWE now is the time to strike before wrestling fans turn off of wrestling
period.

NBC must be thrilled that in NY, the largest market in the country, and
the backyard of WWE, the UPN affiliate ran Smackdown at ..yup...8PM
Saturday...due to a Friday Night yankee game.

That can't help the rating.

Also, NBC and WWE still haven't mastered the obvious. The demo for WWE
product is small..and its males age 16-30 or so. So lets run the XFL
and SNME at 8PM Saturday. They will sure to be at the TV at that time.

Hell even baseball has, for the most part, mvoed away from Sat night
games.

> grabber of the week.
>
>
If they are even looking at the ratings of the
> WWE now is the time to strike before wrestling fans turn off of wrestling
> period.

lol, I love marks like you. Vince is going to cut down the PPVs to 10 a
year, cancel smackdown, and lose about half of his yearly revenue. Sure
he is. Suuure he is. And he's going to drop the number of house shows
to 100 a year and fire HH and Stephanie McMahon. Do marks like you even
live in reality?

And when he implements those changes, he will cut back on travel, test
for steroids, give them healthcare and all..because we really
misunderstand Vince..he is a good guy.
