Um, that URL gives me my blog on myspace. More specifically, the URL
you gave goes to the logged-in user's blog, whoever it is. Do you have

I often shake my head with his choice of words. I seriously wonder if
English is not his primary language. Tell me how you need motivation to
run slow? I would think it takes "self-control" to run slow. I never
quite think of motivation as the term to use in place of common sense.

Well it could be that he meant that it takes more motivation for a slow
person to run than a fast one because not only is it tough to run anyway,
but you suck and will never run fast anyway.

Someone(not me) in this thread made the assertion that I was not
motivated because
I brought full intensity to all my workouts when a motivated person
would be more self-disciplined and use a gradual approach. People(in
this thread) seem to use the word "unmotivated" in a perjorative sense
to mean a lazy and immoral person. I like to use the term "low
intensity" to colour the person lazy, no moral compass, unclean, no
breeding, etc.. Truthfully, I think we ALL do our best, even the
drunken bum on the street. We are all cogs in the wheels of society. I
just happen to be blessed with high intensity.

The funny thing is that I have had about 15 kidney stones in past 10
years. I think from not drinking water. You can bet I drink water when
I'm passing a stone.

Come on guys , you cant be this thick. Most of us are A-type
personalities and would love to run with full intensity every run. Most
of us are addicted to the adrenaline. At least for me, it takes a lot
more discipline/motivation/self-control/goodness to run slow ie below
full capacity. It simply is not optimal to run with full intensity
every run.

Only a big wuss drinks fluid while passing a stone much less drink
during exercise. Real men with real "motivation" do it without so much
as a drop and try to pass it while doing speed work. Damn where have all
the real men gone? Read the blog of a wussy boy? No way! I'd search
out a company called Balco, they have some magic elixir that will help
you recover faster and leap tall buildings with a single bound.

No that would not be sensible but the limiting factor would be
exhaustion anyway and our willingness to run to exhaustion varies. I
save mine for a race where for whatever reason I particularly want to
do well, this has happened twice this year - a 10K in Feb and a 7 mile
hill race earlier this week. According to my Garmin I have run 713
miles since Jan 1st 2006 at an average pace of 7:43 mins/mile.
Am I thick ? If this is defined as an ability to be rational and base
ideas on reality rather than airy-fairy notions then yes I guess.
