11 RAIL BANK. The history of the shot. REV=E2=80=A6=E2=80=A6=E2=80=A6=E2=

The question is:
Being a very enthuastic amateur pool player who loves the games of
billiards
and the sport in all its facets.....while browsing this newsgroup and
the
other billiards newsgroup....I am seeing a person by the name of Larry
Gunniger mentioned fairly frequently. Is this the same person that is
mentioned by Guinness and Ripley's as Larry Gridinger?
Larry Gridinger holds at least two Guinness world records in this sport
as
well as being recorded in Ripley's as the only person reputed to be
able to
make an ELEVEN RAIL Bank Shot.
Please understand.....I am simply asking a question...No offense
intended
and I tender an apology to the above person if offense taken.

Fl responds: 18 of my 20 world records were performed not in a pool
hall, but at Georgia Tech University. My witness was not Jake the
snake who you could buy a beer and he would swear to anything. They
were state government employee=E2=80=99s, Teachers and Physics professors w=
ho
signed written affidavits and affirmed on the tape the record was
genuine and they all inspected the table, cloth and balls to insure
nothing was done to enhance any shot. Every record was filmed not by
me, but by TTN Film Company which is independent of me. Every record
was performed by following the rules of the Guinness world book of
records. The record was then sent out to 150 people in the industry
who had an interest with the entire proof package on a press release.
The tape, the affidavits, the works. These were sent out between 1993
and 1999.
During this period my record shots in Ripley=E2=80=99s were listed under my
Christian name, Larry Grindinger. In 2000 I changed my name to a stage
name Fast Larry Guninger, this aka was easier for people to remember
and spell.
I am the first person who even bothered to prove any record. All of
those in the past just said I did it, not believe me. My proof package
was so complete it left no doubt or questions to be asked, it was
perfect. Ripley=E2=80=99s did publish 5 of my record shots, 5 times and I
did perform them on the premier of their new prime time TV show on TBS.
This all occurred during the 90=E2=80=99s up to the 2000 TV show.
I never sent any of my records to Guinness because in the early 90=E2=80=99s
they had no office in the USA and only had 3 pool records and told me
they did not want any more, their book was already too big. They were
in London and Snooker blokes. They stuck up their noses at pool.
Others began to publish I was in Guinness and every time they did I
would write them to explain I was not, but it feeds on its self. One
will see this and repeat it.
Now today a person ragging me will tell you I lied about being in
Guinness. No I did not lie about this. Nobody can ever find any where
I claimed to be in that book, others wrote this about me in error and
that I have no control over. Once something gets out there, there is
no way to pull it back in. This is why the press knows, many legends
have 2 stories, the one that never happened, and the one everyone knows
and accepts. So you print the one they all accept.
I was the first person in history to perform and prove the worlds first
10, then 11, then an 11 rail one handed, then a 12 rail bank 2 handed.
I have performed hundreds of 11 rail shots all over the country and in
public at the super show, the BCA shows in Vegas and at the Allen
Hopkins Expo.
In the early 90=E2=80=99s, the 10 rail bank was considered impossible by
everyone including Bob Byrne. I took on the challenge and beat the
impossible shot.
In 1993 I was the only person on Earth who could make an 11 rail shot
and it was first done on a 10 year old Gandy big G 9=E2=80=99 table with wo=
rn
out rails, cheap house cloth and a cheap plain white cue ball also 10
years old. The table was a dog. When I published the diagram and the
video tape showing how it was done, others will then follow your shot
once they know how to do it. I taught Rick Wright how to make it.
Very few pool players have made this shot in the last 13 years after
the record was set. The number you can count on one hand. It is the
first person who crosses the impossible barrier that counts, not the
ones who later cross.
Roger Bannister ran the first 3 minute mile which was impossible, now
everyone does. Only Rogers counts.
In the 80=E2=80=99s and very early 90=E2=80=99s in the USA Billiard 3 Cushi=
on
tables were mostly very old Brunswicks with worn out rails and slow
cloth. They had used simonis #1 which later became 760, the same cloth
and speed. Nobody could make the 10 rail shot and every star did try
to. When I broke this record the 3-c people went ape. They could not
have a ball banger pool player claiming their most coveted record.
They did a Roger Maris on me.
Since then a new type of 3-c table has come on the scene. The old worn
out 30 year old Brunswicks are gone and new tables from Europe are
here. Its now Verhovens that cost $10,000 with heated slates, which
allows the ball to roll 4 diamonds further, with German Artemis rubber,
which is about 50% hotter than the old rubber, with 300 simonis which
is about 50% faster than the old 760. The pro cup ball used today has
a very high finish and is hotter and rolls further than the old balls
we used 15 years ago which had a poor finish on them or we were using
slower heavier Ivory balls.
The table today is so fast, any good pro can make an 11 rail bank on a
Verhoven with out much trouble and he runs my record down now because
he can do it with ease. I say to him, go hit 11 on a pool table with a
house cloth, or find an old Brunswick billiard table, with no heated
cloth, with dead rails, with Simonis #1 cloth and try to hit 11 and you
will find, you can not even come close.
It=E2=80=99s like now trying to compare a golf pro who hit his driver 270
yards in 1990 on tour. Today a top pro hits it 330 yards. Does he
make fun of the old timer he now hits it 60 yards further than? No.
It=E2=80=99s the new hotter balls and drivers that give the extra 60 yards
and it=E2=80=99s now the same thing on a 3-c billiard table. Compare my
record, apples to apples. Get on what I did the record on; a table
from hell worth under $1000 then you will understand what I
accomplished.
Paul Gerni got on the 3-c table the week after I set the record and
could only hit 8 rails. He went back to the pool table and after 15
attempts barely made 9. He came in to verify the equipment and he was
stunned. He said, I saw the tape, but I just can not believe you made
these shots on these slow tables, they are dead rubber. I said, stand
back and I banged one off for him live. He said, I saw it, I still can
not believe it. And that is how it all began and you can Believe it,
or Not.
Never ever do a thing; nobody else can do in pool. It will bring down
the wrath and jealous envy of many who will seek to destroy you. If
you do it, tell no one, tell it to the lid of your coffin. The damage
done to me over this can never be measured.

The Wei table diagram of the shot. If you do not know how to open this
instructions are at the end.

The Answer is:

It is a common thing when a performer who is on TV a lot like Larry has
been and has a name that is too long to spell, pronounce or remember he
changes it to a stage name. Archibald Leech became Cary Grant.
Larry simply made his last name shorter and easier to spell making it
Guninger which is his new stage name. Yes the two names are the same
person. There is only one Fast Larry in the pool world, which has two
last names floating around, but it=E2=80=99s the same guy. All the
Ripley=E2=80=99s records were published in his Christian name, not in his
stage name. He changed that in 1999. He has also appeared as the
Great Guninger.

The 9 rail bank stood as a record for 159 years, making 10 rails was
considered impossible, pools 3 minute mile. Every one had tried,
Hoppe, Mosconi, even Mike Massey, and all had failed. Larry was the
first to hit 10 and prove it by the Guinness world book of records and
standards which occurred on 4-1-93. He set 17 of his 20 world records
not in a pool hall but at Ga Tech University which were video taped by
TTN which was an independent film crew. He had dozens of witnesses who
signed affidavits and on tape who were interviewed when the records
occurred in a student rec room on 10 year old tables with original
rails on very cheap house cloth and Larry used the room house cue ball
which was not even a red circle but a $5 Chinese cue ball which was 10
years old and all the polish worn off of it.

Nothing was done to enhance the table, cloth or ball. His proof
package was complete, perfect. Prior to Larry nobody had ever proved
anything. They just said I did this, how dare you question me and
their witness was Harry da Horse and Jake da Snake. The people who
witnessed his shots were state government employees, teachers and
physic professors.
Because his proof package was beyond question, Ripley=E2=80=99s decided to
put him in their cartoon for his 10 rail bank which had just been
reported in every major pool magazine on earth.

Larry then broke his own record and hit 11 on a 7-8-9 &amp;-10=E2=80=99 pool
table, then on a 10=E2=80=99 carom table, then on a 10 and 12=E2=80=99 snoo=
ker
table. That was the record they ran with and appeared in the cartoon
published on 12-27-94. Larry also made these same shots on these same
tables one handed also and several times made 11 rails one handed back
to back. He sent out a tape showing him hitting 11 rails 50 times in
an hour on the Ga Tech table just to show it was not a one time fluke.

When he began to do that everyone began to pass out in wonder or call
him a fraud and fake because they could not do it 2 handed, how could
any one do it one handed, therefore it could not be true and that is
where the fraud charges began from, simple jealousy. It went into two
camps, those who called him the great one and you see many of these
accolades on his web site from many hall of famers or those who ran him
down and never bothered to even see his proof package.

Never do a thing, another man can=E2=80=99t do, and it arouses all sorts of
bad passion from him. To prove he was for real he sent out tapes
showing him hitting 11 rails on dozens of different tables. He
performed the shot live in front of large crowds for 7 years.
&gt;From 94 up to 2000 in front of thousands of people all over the world.
He performed the shot at pools largest and most important shows, the
Allen Hopkins, the BCA show and the Super Show in Vegas. He performed
the shot live in front of a crowd on prime time TV for the Ripley=E2=80=99s
premier show in 2000.

He billed himself as the most powerful pool player on the planet and
went out and backed up that boast with his shots. He has over 50 shots
no other man on Earth can duplicate.

In 1995 he hit 12 rails on a 9=E2=80=99 pool table and that was reported in
Pool &amp; Billiards magazine. That shot has never been duplicated and may
never be. In 1961 he set his first 2 world records making 8 balls on
the break at both 8 and 9 ball in the same year. Those two records
have never been tied in 43 years and it is certain they will never be
broken. The rest of Larry=E2=80=99s other 17 world records were set when =
he
was a senior citizen and far out of his prime and former power which
makes them all the more amazing.

Nobody could run a 3 minute mile until Bannister proved it was
possible, now every one does it. The credit goes to who broke the
barrier, not who does it today.
Every one was using the same pattern published in the Byrne book in 85,
Bob also said the 10 rail shot, could not be done. Larry used an
entirely new pattern for his 11 rail shot and added a jump shot to it
where the cue ball was flying just off the surface of the cloth. These
two discoveries allowed the record to occur.

Larry sent out 175 of these proof packages which have the video tape of
the shot and the pattern written for them. He proved it could be done
and showed everyone how to do it.
People bought 5000 of his video tapes which also has the 11 rail shots
on it so they can study how it was done.
He now has 7 of his 11 rails shots up on his web site which can be seen
in live action.
Go into www.fastlarrypool.com www dot fastlarry dot
com
Open the trick shot tab on the left, click 11 rail banks, click a
player, or install a player and there they are. 10,000 people came in
the first week the shots were up to view them, over 100,000 have seen
them on his site so far. You can see the 11 rail shot he made on the
Ripley=E2=80=99s show, one handed 11 railers, back to back shots, and it=E2=
=80=99s
all there. Please note the final shot where he goes 11 rails back to
back and wonder dog is running around barking at him that was done on a
35 year old sport king with original dead rails. Larry made these
shots on real worn out pool tables just like you play on. Over 100,000
people world wide read and saw his 11 rail diagram. Over 250 million
people world wide have seen him make the 11 rail shot on the Ripley=E2=80=
=99s
TV show during its many world wide re runs.

He showed the world how to do 11, gave them the blue print and over a
decade has now passed and only Larry and TASA world trick shot champion
Rick Wright have made the 11 rail shot on a pool table and Larry
trained Rick how to.
Ricks power is equal to Larry=E2=80=99s. The 6 holes on the table make this
shot almost impossible to perform.

Everyone on AZ and CCB a few months ago began talking about the shot
and thousands of them went out to do it and all failed. Most could
only make 8 and the top sticks there could only make 9 and not even get
close to 10. What was their conclusion, Larry was a fraud and a fake
because they could not do it. If they could not do it, he had to be
cheating. Larry made the 11 rail shot by request on a very cheap $600
home rec 9=E2=80=99 Chinese pool table at the 2003 BCA trade show in Vegas.
He no longer performs the shot live because he views it as dangerous as
the cue ball can fly off the table and hit some one. Larry performs a
9 rail shot one handed and stops the cue ball on a dollar bill today
because that shot is impressive and safe to shoot.

He now says if you want to see the 11 rail shot, buy my video tape. He
feels he has no need to prove he did it any more, he has already proved
this as a absolute fact all of the experts in the game now agree on, he
did do it, he did do it first and was first to prove it. Allen Gilbert
a 3-cushion champion said I saw it, I know it can be made on a billiard
table with no pockets but it can=E2=80=99t be make on a pool table, it=E2=
=80=99s
impossible. Yes I saw him do it on tape, but it=E2=80=99s still impossible.

After a decade and all of this proof, most of the pro=E2=80=99s like Allen
still can not believe it. They see the proof and reject the proof.
They say Larry used smoke and wires.

The pool tables today are the same they were a decade ago, nothings
really changed. New equipment can render records of the past obsolete
over night.
Over a decade ago only Nicklaus and a handful of pro golfers could fly
a ball 300 yrs in the air. Today every skinny kid on tour can due to
high tech drivers and hot new balls.
The baseball today is a lot hotter than the one Babe Ruth hit.

3-cushion billiard tables have gone through a revolution since
Larry=E2=80=99s early shots, these are $10,000 tables, the finest European
construction on Earth, Larry=E2=80=99s records were on 10 to 35 year old wo=
rn
out pool hall tables, most of which were not worth a $1000. Larry=E2=80=99s
records were made on house cloth, the cheapest cloth Ga Tech could buy.
Carom tables only use 300 Simonis, which is twice as fast as pool hall
860. 860 can be twice as fast as house cloth. A $40 cloth vs a $250
cloth. House cloth thick like a rug, 300 very thin, extremely fast,
it=E2=80=99s like shooting a ball on ice.
The carom tables have heated slates which will speed up the roll of the
ball at least 4 more diamonds of roll. A 9 rail shot on a non heated
slate becomes a 10 rail shot do to the extra 4 to 5=E2=80=99 of roll you get
when you heat the slate. No pool tables have heated slates. None of
Larry=E2=80=99s record tables had a heated slate. All carom tables now do.
The Carom tables of yesterday never were heated, the rails were too
high, the rubber was not hot, and the cloth was simonois #1 which is
like 760 is today. That is why they could not make 10 on them, they
were slow. All of that has now changed in the last decade.

Carom tables have a 2=E2=80=9D slate and Larry=E2=80=99s cheap tables had a=
n l=E2=80=9D
slate.
Carom tables use state of the art pro super aramith tourney balls from
Belgium, Larry used a cheap house ball from China worth $5 which has
also been in play for a decade and had lost all of its polish. On each
record shot, the witnesses on video tape inspected the cloth and ball
and verified nothing was on either one to enhance the shot. They
rubbed the ball, smelled it, they rubbed their hands on the cloth.

Larry sells small pieces of the original house cloth he used to make
the shot, it has a white backing on it. Mali made it.
Camera close ups of the table, cloth and ball used were part of the
package. People rubbed the ball to insure it was clean and nothing had
been applied to it. Larry had the ball handed to him to insure he had
no chance to even do that. Before the shot Larry waited and took the
first table to open and used the cue ball that was in play on that
table. He did not even brush or clean the cloth, just banged off the
shot on a table that had been in continuous play for 10 straight hours.
That was the extremes he went to in order to show the shot was
genuine. It gained him nothing. All it got him was insults and grief.
The Carom people wax and highly polish their balls to even give them
more speed. The carom tables use the German artemis rubber, which
costs $200 compared to the $30 rubber used on pool tables. That rubber
is very hot and fast compared to pool tables. Larry=E2=80=99s records were
all on 10 year old Gandy big G=E2=80=99s made in 83, Brunswick sport kings
made in 58 and a few gold crowns made in 81. His tables were old and
all had the original rubber on them, none of them were hot tables, in
fact most were slow tables. Some of them Larry called the pool table
from Hell. Larry never performed a record on a new table.

Case in point to prove this.
2 weeks after Larry made the worlds first 11 rail shots on his 9=E2=80=99
Gandy and 10=E2=80=99 carom table Paul Gerni came to town to inspect the
equipment and could only make 8 rails on the carom table. He went over
to the pool table and could only make 9 rails, but keep in mind Paul
has never made 10 on any table but does 9 on a table somewhere every
day. Paul turned white saying, I can=E2=80=99t believe you did this on
equipment this bad and slow and old. Larry banged off an 11 rail shot
for him and said, that=E2=80=99s how, now go eat more wheaties and you can =
be
like me.

The point is, on a modern carom table, 11 can be now made by any top
player due to the extreme speed then now have. Larry taught them how
gave them the diagram and tape which is why they are doing it today.
Larry say=E2=80=99s to them, this is now nothing, if you want to see how
powerful you are, go to a real pool table that=E2=80=99s 10 years old with
house cloth and bang off 11 using the house cue ball, go do that and
you have my respect.

THE WEI POOL TABLE, HOW TO OPEN AND VIEW IT.

Every now and then, someone will put a shot in their post which looks
like this odd gobbly-gook code. For those who have not seen this before
or know how to use it so that they can see the shot, here is an
explanation of how to see the shot.

1)How to get the wei table so you can see the shot

Go to the following address in your browser-ie, internet explorer or
netscape, by either copying it into your browser or clicking on the
link.

<a href="http://endeavor.med.nyu.edu/~wei/pool/pooltable2.html" target="_blank">http://endeavor.med.nyu.edu/~wei/pool/pooltable2.html</a>

This is called the 'Wei' table, and it is where you will be able to
view the shots. Put this into your favorites/bookmarks.

When you go to the wei table for the first time, one of two things
usually happens. It will ask you if you want to download 'shockwave' to
which you click ok or it will automatically download. You cannot use
the table without shockwave. If neither of those things happens, you
need to download it.

Downloading shockwave

Mac computers:

<a href="http://endeavor.med.nyu.edu/~wei/pool//download/pooltable2.sea" target="_blank"> http://endeavor.med.nyu.edu/~wei/pool//download/pooltable2.s ea</a>

Windows pc computers:

<a href="http://endeavor.med.nyu.edu/~wei/pool/download/pooltable2.exe" target="_blank"> http://endeavor.med.nyu.edu/~wei/pool/download/pooltable2.ex e</a>

If this does not work, go to the shockwave site and download it from
there.

www.macromedia.com

The table looks very nice, like a small pool table with 15 balls and
the cueball. If the table does not look nice, you may need a recent
plug-in, which you can get at the macromedia site. It is unlikely that
this will happen, however.

2)Getting the code onto the table

Highlight the code, including the words copy and end, and click copy,
either by using the right click button (pc) or by using the edit drop
down menu at the top of your screen.

Open the wei table, and click the paste button at the bottom right of
the table. You will be asked twice if you wish to display this, click
ok twice. The shot appears.

If you wish to put a shot into your post, use your cursor to put the
unneeded balls into the pockets, then move the others and the cueball
around on the table to show your shot. There are some lines beneath the
table that you can use to show the path of the shot. Once you have done
this, click the copy button at the bottom, and go to the post you are
making by hitting the back button.

Hit paste and your shot will appear in your post in the 'wei code'

11 RAIL BANK IS THAT SO HARD TO DO NOW?

6 pages 6-28-04 CR, Fast Larry Guninger all rights reserved.
Published in DC, Bpn, czm, upp, rsb, ppt, btt, ip.

A fan writes an email:
Larry, I was on your website last night and your tricks shots are
awesome. On a side note, what is so hard about hitting 11 rails on a
table? It is especially easy on a carom table because of the heated
cushions. Anyway, not to knock your ability, but the best tricks ever
made, is done at a 3-cushion table when the player makes the balls
dance while hitting 3-cushions. Sergio,

... FL RESPONDS;
Yes, 3-cushion artistic shots are easier on a $10,000 heated slate
table than they are on a worn out $1,000 pool table with 6 holes to
dodge with a much slower cloth and no heated slate. A 300 cloth is
almost twice as fast as our pool house cloth we play on every day.
Every artistic shot Sammy or Rojas, Steylearts or Cuelemans makes on a
3-cushion table that is possible to convert the same shot to a pool
table I do also. There is nothing these guys can do I can't do as
well. Rick Wright and I took the 72 Artistic shots performed in the
European 3-C world event and were able to convert 70% of them over to a
pool table. We did this in the early 90's and I used to tour with
two shows. My pool legends show where I recreated the great show shots
of the past but had a lot of set up shots of not great skill. My 2nd
show I offered was my fantasy show which was full of the European 3-C
shots on a pool table.

When I ran the world pool trick shot championship back in the mid
90's I featured many of these shots in our competitions. Our test
was triple in difficulty compared to what the pool trick shot guys are
shooting today which Mike Massey tells me is no tougher than a good
amateur program. Rick Wright and I were the first two pool people to
prove we could do these billiard fantasy shots on pool tables.

I do them on tables from hell, their Verhoven shots, on pool tables. I
am the first pool player who can and will do an entire show of nothing
but DF11 world class European Masses, I carry 30 with me. Most pool
players do 2 or 3 at best and they are weak DF5's. The grand Masse is
a good shot on a Verhoven; it's a bear on a cheap pool table. Deno
told me once the Hoppe 3 rail masse is a baby billiard and a DF4, I
went dodge 6 holes on house cloth on a pool table and its not. Our
target trying to pot a ball is also many times smaller than just trying
to clip a ball on either side, your target in fact is the size of a
basketball.
My target is the size of an apple. You can acquire my video tapes to
see for your self if you like seeing balls hug and snake on rails,
these shots I am a master at. Soon I will have these shots in a
collection on DVD; I am working on this now.

HEATED SLATES ON CAROM TABLES ARE A NEW THING. 15-20 YEARS AGO THEY
WERE RARE AND ONLY ON THE MOST EXPENSIVE TABLES. HEATED SLATES HAVE
NEVER BEEN SOLD BY BRUNSWICK OR ANY AMERICAN POOL TABLE MAKER THEREFORE
ALL OF OUR CAROM TABLES IN THE USA WERE UNHEATED. THE HEATED TABLES
WERE IN EUROPE AND IN TIME THEY BEGAN TO BE IMPORTED AND SET UP IN THE
USA IN ONLY THE MOST EXCLUSIVE PLACES. 10k FOR THE TABLE AND PAY TO
FLY THE MECHANIC OVER FROM BELGIUM TO SET IT UP WAS A LITTLE RICH FOR
MOST PEOPLE. I WAS THE FIRST PERSON IN HISTORY TO HIT A 10 RAIL SHOT
ON A CAROM TABLE, THEN 11, THEN 11 ONE HANDED AND THEN 12. That
occurred on a non heated Brunswick table made in 1982 so my records
were on the old equipment.

You can not get a heated slate on any table bought in the USA even
today; they are totally unknown in this country. There are none on any
pool tables anywhere. You only see them on 7 to10K European 3-cushion
billiard tables with no pockets.

People here just have not yet discovered the many advantages of this.
A heated slate which removes the moisture from the cloth will allow the
ball to run 4 diamonds further or half of a table length on any cloth
used. When I made my record shots on every table I used they were all
non heated, that was the spot I gave you on your tables today. The 10
rail shot was considered impossible; Hoppe tried for 50 years and could
not do it. My 12 rail bank has never been duplicated on any table. I
broke a barrier, showed how and showed everyone the diagram and path.

Everyone today, shoots and steals my shot and nobody gives me credit
for it when they do. This is not right. This is not professional.
It was printed in every carom magazine worldwide. This occurred in
early 1993, 12 years ago. In 1982 Bob Byrne printed the diagram of how
people tried to hit a 10 rail bank and said it can't be done. That was
proof that no body had done it. I did hit 10 using that pattern but
soon realized 11 were impossible from using this method. My new
diagram was different from what everyone had used and tried, which was
why I succeeded and all of them had failed. I am the pioneer of this
shot, its inventor; you would not be shooting it today, if it was not
for me. The pattern you use today came from me.

When carom players were on Simonis #1, same speed as pool 760 today,
with ivory cue balls or the phenolic balls of that day, on the
Brunswick tables made here with high soft rubber, 10 rails was
impossible. Hoppes average best score on that equipment was a barely
over 1.0 which is nothing today.

I thank you sir for coming to me with proper respect on this issue.
Most people in the Carom world do not and this causes me much distress
and anger. People saw the tapes of me doing it. I gave them the manual
and laid the shot in their laps. Now it's easy, then it was not
easy it was impossible. Same thing on breaking the 4 minute mile,
nobody could do it, when one did, then every one did and said this is
easy. The credit goes to who did it first, not to you now doing it.
Go out and run 3:59:59, do you get in the papers, no, they go, that's
nice. Roger Bannister got in the papers. If you now say, running 3
minutes is nothing, all of us can do it that insults and is not fair to
Roger, who broke an impossible barrier that could not be crossed. When
you say 11 is nothing, you pass on that same insult to me sir. All I
ask is for some simple respect that is long over due me here.

11 rails on a modern verhoven is still a nice shot, but as you said,
among the 3-cushion top players of today no big deal any more. 11
rails on a 9' pool table has only been duplicated once in the last
decade and that was by TASA world trick shot champion Rick Wright and I
taught him how to do it. If I had not coached him, he would not have
known how to make it. He also had tried to do it for 20 years to no
avail. On a pool table, the shot must be hit totally different than on
a verhoven. Same basic pattern, but you must do something different to
the cue ball on launch and at impact. On the verhoven you bring the
shot deep into the corner. Do that on a pool table and you scratch. On
the pool table you virtually have to hit off of both points of the
pocket and the accuracy of that is in its self, almost impossible.

Yes Sergio 11 rails is easy on your $10,000 brand new Verhoven with
heated slate and super fast 300 cloth. The table I set the record on
was a $1000 table 10 years old, with 760 cloth,10 year old dirty house
ball with nothing on it, no artemis rubber, my rubber was crap,
cheap, worn out and 10 years old, no heated slate, barely getting to 10
rails was a huge accomplishment. Look at my tape, the record table was
an old Gandy 10' snooker table where they had put billiard rails on
it. Those rails had been on for 10 years and in play from 8am to llpm,
it was in a college rec room. That table was worn out and slow, very
slow. Ask Paul Gerni, he saw it, he shot it.

My record was truly done on a sub standard piece of crap. When I set
the 11 rail record on that 3-cushion table Paul Gerni came in a few
weeks after that to check out the 3-cushion table and he could only
make 8 rails on it. He went back to my 9' Gandy big G pool table
where I had done 11 and could only make 9 rails clearing the rail by
1&quot;. He turned white, looked ill and said, I can't believe, you did
this on this equipment, what you did, was impossible. I looked at him
and said impossible for you, not for me, eat more Wheaties.

I was in a basement and had a moisture and humidity problems also. I
had nothing going for me. The carom tables today are lighting fast but
several years ago on simonois #1 they were not. The cloth billiards
was played on was the same as what 760 or Granita 2000 is today,
substantially slower than 300 is. The rails were dead compared to the
German hot Artemis rubber you are using which again was unknown in this
country only up to a few years ago.
We did not have these super hot very highly polished Aramith carom pro
balls; by comparison our old cue ball is like a 1970 Golf ball to a
2004 golf ball. 9 rails was a record I broke which had stood for 159
years.

I was the first to do it, and prove it by the Guinness world book of
standards. Nobody has ever filmed records with signed affidavits and
room full of witnesses before. I set the new standard on how to claim
and prove a record. None of this was done in a pool hall, all these
records were done at Georgia Tech University, the witnesses were
faculty, physics professors and the filming was done by TTN, and
independent organization. The tables, the cloth, the ball, everything
was inspected to insure, nothing had been done to enhance the shot or
equipment. I was clean as new fallen snow on these records.

What was my reward, I was called a liar and a fraud because nobody else
could to it at the time. 11 years later I am still being called a liar
and a fraud all because I can do the impossible and others cannot. I
am very bitter about this and I wish I had never broken this record;
all it has brought me is grief and sadness.

The 9' pool tables I do 11 rails on with a cheap house cloth, 10 year
old house ball and 10 year old cheap rubber. Go get on some cheap pool
tables and see how easy 11 rails is, you will find out you cannot do it
and probably can't even make 10. Hitting 9 on many is almost
impossible. Most good players can only hit 8. My cloth cost $30, your
300 cloth or granite M costs $300. You are comparing your $10,000
table with my $1000 table. Do you now understand, there is no
comparison here? The Brunswick sport king 9' pool table on my video
link where you see me hit 11 rails back to back, that table had the
original rails still on it, the table and rails was 35 years old. That
is the kind of crap I sat my world records on, tables from hell Sergio.

You are now comparing apples to oranges, You can say look, Tiger woods
hits a golf ball 335 yards today, but if you gave him the same ball and
club Jack Nicklaus used 15 years ago Tiger could only hit the ball 290
to 300. The same distance Jack hit back then. Tiger is not longer
than Jack, he just has better and more modern equipment, it is the same
with your new 3-cushion tables sergio. You can't compare what they
are doing in golf today against the past, same on the 11 rail shot,
conditions have changed in the billiard carom world. You can compare
today vs. past on pool tables, so go give that a wack and see for your
self, just how hard an 11 rail shot really is. Go try to do it on a
9' pool table from hell and watch your pecker begin to shrivel up, it
is now not as long as you thought it was. Now you have to dodge 6
holes, have fun. Go do that, and then you will see. That will alter
your current concept real quick those 11 rails are easy.

HISTORY OF BALL AND TABLE SPEED.
************************************************************ ********
The improvement of balls has led to improvements in performances. When
carom billiards gets faster, then you can shoot easy and hit 4 or 5
rails and your accuracy is higher in a soft stroke than a hard stroke.
The old Ivory balls were heavy and the finish on them was not slick.
When Aramith came out with the Modern Phenolic carom ball a few years
ago it had a super high gloss finish which made it a lot hotter ball
than used in the past and it rolled further so you could hit it softer.

That added a couple of diamonds in roll. Then they began to heat the
slates in Europe and that will add 4 more diamonds in roll. There is
6' already. Now change from the cloth they were using which was
simonis #1 which was the same as our 760 we are using in pool today to
the 300 they are now using and this cloth is so much faster and thinner
it probably gives you an entire table length more of extra roll that we
did not have in the past. The new European tables are using the finest
German Artemis tourney grade rubber cushions which are a lot hotter
than the cheap rubber that is on our American tables today. I never
had that tourney rubber; I did my records on worn out old rubber 10 to
35 years old. That hotter rubber is going to propel the cue ball
several diamonds further today that the old rubber did in the past.

This is why the players on the old equipment could only make 9, but put
that player on today's new fast equipment his same stroke could not
go down table the extra 10' to make 10 or 11 rails. Note, I was
never on a heated slate, I used 15 to 35 year old Brunswick used and
worn out tables and I always used the cheap house ball for my records
which was never enhanced. All of my pool 10 and 11 rail world records
were on $40 cheap house cloth. To compare what I did on these $1000
worn out pool tables and to now compare what you can do on a $10,000
Verhoven is a huge insult to me. Doing so is like comparing Jack
Nicklaus in 1980 with his persimmon head 945 driver against Tiger Woods
today with his titanium driver and much hotter ball.
The entire tour in 1980 could only drive the ball 265, the elite to
get out to 280, only Jack and a couple gorillas could reach 300. Today
the entire tour is past 300 and the elite are 325 to 330 and the
gorillas out to 360. The point is you can not compare the past to the
present when equipment advances and changes. Hoppe in his day in the
40's up to 1952 when he retired would score a tourney average of 1.3.
In the 70's with better tables balls and rubber Raymond Cuelemans
could reach 1.6. In the 90's with the heated slates, hot rubber, 300
cloths and hot balls they were now waxing and enhancing averages would
now go over 2.0 by Sang Lee and others. A big part of that scoring
advancement is credited with the hotter ball used today in the carom
world.

There are other shots on my web site; you need the code to open them.
I can email a video link where you can open and view an 11 rail
collection. Do not publish these pass words or codes or shots. People
must come to me via email to ask for them. I published the 11 rail
shot on my web site and in one week 10,000 people downloaded it to view
it. This shot was discussed on all of the chat boards, 10,000 players,
many of them top pros all went out to hit 11, guess what, not one of
them did, nobody could get even 10, all of them reported they could
barely get past 9. What was their conclusion, I cheated, and I am a
fraud and a liar, because they can't do it. That is my reward for
sharing my shot with a new generation; they insult me the same as the
last one did.

Putting that shot out and 10,000 people going into it drives my
bandwidth costs up so I had to lock all the shots down and only offer
one, the 4 ball bottle shot. To view the 11 rail shots and the other
collection, these are only offered to those who ask to see them
politely. Enjoy the shots. <a href="http://www.fastlarrypool.com" target="_blank">http://www.fastlarrypool.com</a>
If you are a 3-C and you think you have a real big stroke then find a
10 year old pool table with a house cloth and use the house $5 cue ball
and bang off 11 like I did. If you can't, then you now know who da
man here is. If you do that, then fade my 12 rail bank, and just
don't say and lie you did it, film and prove it like I did.

Narcissistic Personality Disorder

What is Narcissistic Personality Disorder?

Quick Summary:
Narcissistic personality disorder is characterized by
self-centeredness. Like histrionic disorder, people with this disorder
seek attention and praise. They exaggerate their achievements,
expecting others to recongize them as being superior. They tend to be
choosy about picking friends, since they believe that not just anyone
is worthy of being their friend. Narcissists tend to make good first
impressions, yet have difficulty maintaining long-lasting
relationships. They are generally uninterested in the feelings of
others and may take advantage of them.
Symptoms of Narcissistic Personality Disorder:
Requires excessive praise and admiration
Takes advantage of others
Grandiose sense of self-importance
Lack of empathy
Lying, to self and others
Obsessed with fantasies of fame, power, or beauty
Additional Information:
Narcissism is most often found in men and is often diagnosed with other
mental disorders.

&gt; Larry, I was on your website last night and your tricks shots are
&gt; awesome. On a side note, what is so hard about hitting 11 rails on a
&gt; table? It is especially easy on a carom table because of the heated
&gt; cushions. Anyway, not to knock your ability, but the best tricks ever
&gt; made, is done at a 3-cushion table when the player makes the balls
&gt; dance while hitting 3-cushions. Sergio,
&gt;
&gt; ... FL RESPONDS;
&gt; Yes, 3-cushion artistic shots are easier on a $10,000 heated slate
&gt; table than they are on a worn out $1,000 pool table with 6 holes to
&gt; dodge with a much slower cloth and no heated slate. A 300 cloth is
&gt; almost twice as fast as our pool house cloth we play on every day.
&gt; Every artistic shot Sammy or Rojas, Steylearts or Cuelemans makes on a
&gt; 3-cushion table that is possible to convert the same shot to a pool
&gt; table I do also. There is nothing these guys can do I can't do as
&gt; well. Rick Wright and I took the 72 Artistic shots performed in the
&gt; European 3-C world event and were able to convert 70% of them over to a
&gt; pool table. We did this in the early 90's and I used to tour with
&gt; two shows. My pool legends show where I recreated the great show shots
&gt; of the past but had a lot of set up shots of not great skill. My 2nd
&gt; show I offered was my fantasy show which was full of the European 3-C
&gt; shots on a pool table.
&gt;
&gt; When I ran the world pool trick shot championship back in the mid
&gt; 90's I featured many of these shots in our competitions. Our test
&gt; was triple in difficulty compared to what the pool trick shot guys are
&gt; shooting today which Mike Massey tells me is no tougher than a good
&gt; amateur program. Rick Wright and I were the first two pool people to
&gt; prove we could do these billiard fantasy shots on pool tables.
&gt;
&gt; I do them on tables from hell, their Verhoven shots, on pool tables. I
&gt; am the first pool player who can and will do an entire show of nothing
&gt; but DF11 world class European Masses, I carry 30 with me. Most pool
&gt; players do 2 or 3 at best and they are weak DF5's. The grand Masse is
&gt; a good shot on a Verhoven; it's a bear on a cheap pool table. Deno
&gt; told me once the Hoppe 3 rail masse is a baby billiard and a DF4, I
&gt; went dodge 6 holes on house cloth on a pool table and its not. Our
&gt; target trying to pot a ball is also many times smaller than just trying
&gt; to clip a ball on either side, your target in fact is the size of a
&gt; basketball.

&gt; today vs. past on pool tables, so go give that a wack and see for your
&gt; self, just how hard an 11 rail shot really is. Go try to do it on a
&gt; 9' pool table from hell and watch your pecker begin to shrivel up, it
&gt; is now not as long as you thought it was. Now you have to dodge 6
&gt; holes, have fun. Go do that, and then you will see. That will alter
&gt; your current concept real quick those 11 rails are easy.
&gt;
&gt; HISTORY OF BALL AND TABLE SPEED.
&gt; ************************************************************ ********
&gt; The improvement of balls has led to improvements in performances. When
&gt; carom billiards gets faster, then you can shoot easy and hit 4 or 5
&gt; rails and your accuracy is higher in a soft stroke than a hard stroke.
&gt; The old Ivory balls were heavy and the finish on them was not slick.
&gt; When Aramith came out with the Modern Phenolic carom ball a few years
&gt; ago it had a super high gloss finish which made it a lot hotter ball
&gt; than used in the past and it rolled further so you could hit it softer.
&gt;
&gt;
&gt; That added a couple of diamonds in roll. Then they began to heat the
&gt; slates in Europe and that will add 4 more diamonds in roll. There is
&gt; 6' already. Now change from the cloth they were using which was
&gt; simonis #1 which was the same as our 760 we are using in pool today to
&gt; the 300 they are now using and this cloth is so much faster and thinner
&gt; it probably gives you an entire table length more of extra roll that we
&gt; did not have in the past. The new European tables are using the finest
&gt; German Artemis tourney grade rubber cushions which are a lot hotter
&gt; than the cheap rubber that is on our American tables today. I never
&gt; had that tourney rubber; I did my records on worn out old rubber 10 to
&gt; 35 years old. That hotter rubber is going to propel the cue ball
&gt; several diamonds further today that the old rubber did in the past.
&gt;
&gt; This is why the players on the old equipment could only make 9, but put
&gt; that player on today's new fast equipment his same stroke could not
&gt; go down table the extra 10' to make 10 or 11 rails. Note, I was
&gt; never on a heated slate, I used 15 to 35 year old Brunswick used and
&gt; worn out tables and I always used the cheap house ball for my records
&gt; which was never enhanced. All of my pool 10 and 11 rail world records
&gt; were on $40 cheap house cloth. To compare what I did on these $1000
&gt; worn out pool tables and to now compare what you can do on a $10,000
&gt; Verhoven is a huge insult to me. Doing so is like comparing Jack
&gt; Nicklaus in 1980 with his persimmon head 945 driver against Tiger Woods
&gt; today with his titanium driver and much hotter ball.
&gt; The entire tour in 1980 could only drive the ball 265, the elite to
&gt; get out to 280, only Jack and a couple gorillas could reach 300. Today
&gt; the entire tour is past 300 and the elite are 325 to 330 and the
&gt; gorillas out to 360. The point is you can not compare the past to the
&gt; present when equipment advances and changes. Hoppe in his day in the
&gt; 40's up to 1952 when he retired would score a tourney average of 1.3.
&gt; In the 70's with better tables balls and rubber Raymond Cuelemans
&gt; could reach 1.6. In the 90's with the heated slates, hot rubber, 300
&gt; cloths and hot balls they were now waxing and enhancing averages would
&gt; now go over 2.0 by Sang Lee and others. A big part of that scoring
&gt; advancement is credited with the hotter ball used today in the carom
&gt; world.
&gt;
&gt; There are other shots on my web site; you need the code to open them.
&gt; I can email a video link where you can open and view an 11 rail
&gt; collection. Do not publish these pass words or codes or shots. People
&gt; must come to me via email to ask for them. I published the 11 rail
&gt; shot on my web site and in one week 10,000 people downloaded it to view
&gt; it. This shot was discussed on all of the chat boards, 10,000 players,
&gt; many of them top pros all went out to hit 11, guess what, not one of
&gt; them did, nobody could get even 10, all of them reported they could
&gt; barely get past 9. What was their conclusion, I cheated, and I am a
&gt; fraud and a liar, because they can't do it. That is my reward for
&gt; sharing my shot with a new generation; they insult me the same as the
&gt; last one did.
&gt;
&gt; Putting that shot out and 10,000 people going into it drives my
&gt; bandwidth costs up so I had to lock all the shots down and only offer
&gt; one, the 4 ball bottle shot. To view the 11 rail shots and the other
&gt; collection, these are only offered to those who ask to see them
&gt; politely. Enjoy the shots. <a href="http://www.fastlarrypool.com" target="_blank">http://www.fastlarrypool.com</a>
&gt; If you are a 3-C and you think you have a real big stroke then find a
&gt; 10 year old pool table with a house cloth and use the house $5 cue ball
&gt; and bang off 11 like I did. If you can't, then you now know who da
&gt; man here is. If you do that, then fade my 12 rail bank, and just
&gt; don't say and lie you did it, film and prove it like I did.
&gt;
&gt; May God bless and peace be with you. May the wind be always on your
&gt; back and
&gt; all 9 balls fall. VENI VIDI VICI, OMNIA VINCIT AMOR. &quot;Fastus

&gt; all. Yes I really did do it all and you can believe it, or not. If
&gt; you don't believe it, C'est La Vie. A prophet is not recognized in
