Hi,
I was just thinking about the good old days of RSB, and I wondered:
Still anyone around from the days that RSB had a monthly "Best of RSB"?
Regards,
Mario <--- Just curious...

Mario! Great to see you're still on this side of the dirt! What have you
been doing all these years?
As for RSB's oldtimers, there are quite a few around still, methinks.

Great to see you're still around too! :o)
It's been 3 years since my last post I guess, and a lot of things
happened to me ever since. (My life has been like a soap opera.) I
still play pool on occasion, but not as serious anymore.

I've been thinking about reviving Best of RSB. I will host it
if someone will compile it. I still have the old page, although
it could use some updates.

The committee consisted of Jeffrey Weiss. He would chose the articles
and email them to me. Then I would post them on my old website. I
still have the site. Hasn't been updated for about a jillion years.
I keep what is currently there because people keep emailing me and
requesting to see old articles and mostly stories from David Sapolis.
It wouldn't be much of a step to start uploading more stuff. We just
need a "committee". Pool related only. Stories encouraged. No
politics...get the drift? When ya gonna start sending me articles

It would be great to see that updated Jim its been awhile since I
checked that out because of the all backdated posts , It would gives us
something else to peruse in our many continued quests looking for the
"ultimate" stroke !

I don't think I qualify - you'd need someone a bit more serious, like
Ed or yourself for example. My favourite post in the recent past was
Smorg's covered frying pan opus... nothing to do with pool.
How about we make it so that anybody can nominate a post for Best of
RSB and if there's enough agreement, bingo...?

OK with me, but somebody still has to compile them and send as a group
to me. Due to my connection and the amount of time posts remain on the
server it would be rather difficult. If someone would just email them
as a group and in one text message it would make things much easier on
me. Of course you're qualified. The only requirement is a sense of
humor along with some common sense. No politics or flame wars.

Of course you're qualified David. You know much more about pool than you are
willing to admit. Just hanging around here for the last 6 years, you are
bound to absorb it by osmosis. Also you are very well liked and respected by
everyone, even Crazy Uncle Lar I suspect. Your unique way of putting things
generally leaves people amused, bemused and confused but never angry.
If I'm the Ed you're referring to, well..I haven't been around long enough
as a regular poster.
Also I like volunteering you for things.
BTW I'm still waiting for that History of RSb thingy you volunteered for a
while back. Maybe you can combine the 2 projects?

I haven't got the time just now but there is something else I would like to
do personally. I was doing a lot of googling through the RSB archives and
found a lot of pool articles that struck a cord with me from a variety of
different authors over the past 6 years. I would like to compile either the
articles themselves or at least a list of links to them in the google
archives. Sort of Ed's archive picks or something like that.
I actually saved a lot of them onto my work computer and there's the
problem. I shut my business down 2 weeks ago and my high speed connection
with it and my work computer is sitting in the garage right now. I'm still
waiting for my home high speed wireless internet connection and am stuck
with dial-up for the moment. So until I can get my work computer back up to
access the saved files and get a high speed connection to re-google some of
them, and find the time, I am stuck. I no longer sit behind the computer all
day so don't post as much as I was. Only about 15 min a day.
But in a week or so I should be ok and would like to compile such a list if
anyone is interested.
