News from July 12.

TRADE: Dallas traded Marquis Daniels to Indiana for Austin Croshere.

TRADE: Memphis traded Shane Battier to Houston for Stromile Swift and the
rights to 1st round draft pick (#8) Rudy Gay.

TRADE: Golden State traded Derek Fisher to Utah for Devin Brown, Keith
McLeod, and Andre Owens. Owens was first signed to a new contract.

TRADE: In a sign-and-trade, Indiana re-signed Peja Stojakovic to a
5 year, $64 million contract and traded him and cash to New Orleans for
the rights to Andrew Betts (a 2nd round draft pick from 1998). [By doing
the sign-and-trade, Indiana also received a $7.5 million trade exception.]

Atlanta signed Speedy Claxton to a 4 year, $25 million contract.

Cleveland signed LeBron James to a 3 year, maximum contract extension with
a 4th year at the player's option.

Denver signed Carmelo Anthony to a 4 year, maximum contract extension with
a player option for a 5th year.

Detroit signed Nazr Mohammed to a 5 year, $31 million contract with the
5th year at the team's option.

Indiana claimed Orien Greene, who had been released by Boston.

The LA Clippers re-signed Sam Cassell to a 2 year, $13 million contract.

The LA Lakers signed Vladimir Radmanovic to a 5 year $31 million contract.

The LA Lakers signed Shammond Williams to a 1 year, $1.75 million
contract.

Miami signed Dwyane Wade to a 3 year, maximum contract extension with a
4th year at the player's option.

New Orleans released Arvydas Macijauskas.

Philadelphia re-signed Shavlik Randolph to a 2 year, $2 million contract.

Philadelphia re-signed Willie Green to a 5 year, $17 million contract.

San Antonio signed Jacque Vaughn to a 1 year, minimum contract.

San Antonio signed restricted free agent Francisco Elson to a 2 year, $6
million offer sheet. Denver has 7 days to match the offer.

San Antonio signed restricted free agent Jackie Butler to a 3 year, $7
million offer sheet. New York has 7 days to match the offer.

Seattle signed 2005 2nd round draft pick Mickael Gelabale to a 2 year,
minimum contract.

Utah re-signed Matt Harpring to a 4 year, $25 million contract.

Memphis signed 1st round draft pick (#8) Rudy Gay to a 2 year, $4,653,450
contract with 2 more years worth $5,860,397 at the team's option.

New Jersey signed 1st round draft pick (#22) Marcus Williams to a 2 year,
$2,278,080 contract with 2 more years worth $3,339,365 at the team's
option.

New Jersey signed 1st round draft pick (#23) Josh Boone to a 2 year,
$2,187,000 contract with 2 more years worth $3,269,088 at the team's
option.

Atlanta signed 2nd round draft pick (#33) Solomon Jones.

USA Basketball added Kirk Hinrich to the team of (now) 24 players for Team
USA that will compete in the 2006 World Championship and 2008 Olympic
games. 12 of the 24 members will play in each tournament, with the 12
being selected by tryouts.
