| The Ole Procrastinator: predict Vargas vs Mosely [message #1086912] |

Dennis of Ellie Kabong fame just reminded me that I need to hop to it
and make my prediction on the upcoming fight between Fernando Vargas
and Sugar Shane Mosely. Since they have already met, the results were
not representative of Mosely's victory. Vargas suffered a very badly
swollen left eye that closed down, like totally shut, and it was an
ugly swelling, too! The referee Joe Cortez called the bout. Over the
valiant protestations of Vargas, it was the right thing to do. And
Vargas knew in his heart of hearts that is was the best thing. Vargas
was giving a good account of himself but the tide slowly changed as it
became evident that his swelling eye would be the factor that let
Mosely through the door of opportunity.
So what we have is a rematch of a bout that was very, very close at
the time of the stoppage. So I'll do my best to go to other sources of
material and records to make my usual prediction.
Than you to the regulars of RSB for your patience on this one.

Thank you, I appreciate the compliment and will try ever to live up to
it. But should I fall or waver every now and then, know that it is my
responsibility to achieve and maintain a standard as the Ole
Procrastinator.

Look dude, you have patience down to the fine art of rocket surgery and your
track record speaks volumes. I know I can't really compete with that, but
without competition, what's the point of it all?

Dennis, it took me a long, long time to develop patience. Now I have
it and am most willing to share via demonstration. If ya can't beat
'em, out live 'em.

If you can't beat 'em, out live 'em. Probably one of the most profound
statements I've ever heard. You're going down in the history books my man
and hopefully it'll be for the good...

Dennis,
I'm still working with the data on Mosely and Vargas. The history
stuff can wait . . . I think.

Well, I missed it by a round which means my record is nothing. Had a good
thought about it yet good isn't good enough when you've got to be right on to
be the best. I guess I failed again.
Your deal my man, and may the cards be with you...
