Bullshit : if anything he has cemented his place. About time cocky,
vile, foul mouthed Italian players for their come uppance. There is only
one hero in this story and it sure as hell isnt Materazzi. France has
forgiven him : the rest of the world too if my reading between the lines
is up to the task.

Yeah, there's no reason to forget or discredit the man's career, but
he sure as hell isn't a hero for having pulled this one. To lose your
head like that (the puns just keep on coming) at that level to a "yo
momma" type insult is nothing to be proud of.
But what he did was human. People can forgive him for that.

Yes, he was human but for one flash moment, lost self control and made
a very poor decision. He and his team have suffered the consequences
of his action since that point.
There is learning point for young athletes coming up through the
varying sports: Keep the focus of the game and wins will come, lose
self control and losses will be painful.

But, looking at the bright side, Zidane's action did something
unprecedented. It finally made Americans interested in soccer! Everyone
wants to know about the butt; everyone wants to see how and where it
happend in the game. Zidane is now much more famous in the US than ever
before and is being lionized for his action by Americans! LOL
Fact is, the chest-butt brought excitement into a sport that most
Americans find boring.
