Ones that made you say NOOOO and screwed up team's seasons/player's
careers and made everyone wonder what could have been.
1. Bo Jackson
2. Len Bias (not really an injury, but close enough)
3. Michael Jordan (when he broke his leg early in his career)
4. Dave Johnson (remember the overhyped Dan/Dave crap that Nike was
pushing?)
5. Grant Hill/Penny Hardaway/Cubs young pitchers (aka those career "wow
they're good when they aren't injured but always are" players)

1) Joe Theismann (this isn't even close)
2) Willis McGahee, 2003 Fiesta Bowl
3) Michael Vick, preseason of 2003-2004 season (because I had drafted
him in my big $$$ local league with my 2nd round pick not 2 weeks
earlier)
4) Chris Webber's knee injury in the '03 playoffs against Dallas (when
he just crumpled to the floor like an accordion)
5) Boobie Miles (from Friday Night Lights)

I purposely left him off the list because he was already on the
downside of his career and because he was/is an asshole and deserved
it. And I wasn't talking most graphic injury, I meant the ones with
the most impact. Bo's hip injury was collassal, he was on his way to
be a Hall of Famer in baseball and football. Do you remember his 600
ft. home run in the all-star game? His 600 yard rushing games in Tecmo
Super Bowl? He was a sports god in the making, and it came to a
crashing halt thanks to his crappy hip.

Bo wouldn't have been a baseball HOFer (and I'm a current student at
Auburn University who loves Bo Jackson more than you ever could). He
was a career .250 hitter...his baseball career was noteworthy because
he was doing well despite being a phenomenal football player....but he
was NEVER among the truly elite of Major League Baseball.
Also, how come Barbaro doesn't make the list?

A few more roids like players were taking in the 90's and he could have
been batting .250...with 40-50 HR's a year like McGwire after his mid
90's injuries.

Eh, I didn't think about horses. I suppose, he looked like he had a
good shot at a Triple Crown.

Assuming the NFL didn't catch him roiding (since we're assuming he's a
HOF in both sports, and the NFL *did* have a drug testing policy)

Whose leg break was more gruesome? Thismann's or Sid's? Wasn't there an
audible snap when Theismann broke his leg?

Theissman's looked worse. Sid had on high laced boots which helped his not
look as bad as Theissman's. Both were pretty gross.

Oh, come on. Boxing is a sport and there are quite a few who have died in
the ring. That qualifies as more devastating than getting a broken leg.
