I wrote previously that the hall I frequent installed simonis 860 on the 4 9
foot tables there. Well it's been 3 weeks and I am not so sure that I like
this cloth, if indeed this cloth really is simonis. While the cloth runs
true (any new cloth would) and draw speed seems good, the cloth rolling
speed seems kind of slow to me. It is difficult to easily power shots around
the table and over all it seems slower than whatever cloth they had before.
I thought simonis was supposed to be fast cloth? Is 830 a slower variety? Or
do you think the owners either got duped or are duping us?

It's possible the old cloth may have been 760. That's the faster Simonis
used on 3 cushion tables. It's unusual to find it on pool tables, however.

Ed, do not believe any thing Bob Johnson writes, You ed are the dumbest
person on RSB, Bob is 2nd, so here, its da dumb teaching the dumber, oy
vey. The bozo dozo dynamic duo.
Ding dong, 860 is the standard cloth. 760 is maybe 15 % faster and its
the cloth the rest of the world prefers. That is the cloth FL DOES all
his shows on when he tours.
860 is used on the UPA pro 9 ball tour, usually Hr.
300 is only for carom games with no pockets and is maybe 50% faster
than 860 and playing pool on it is, impossible.

Ed, ding dong, there is no 830. We already know your room owner is a
fookin moron. So its a damn good bet he bought the D&R imatation
simonis which is shit from Mexico.
The con they put on the room owner is, you ding dongs are fookin morons
and cant tell the cheap shit from the good shit. So he buys the cheap
shit and it does look just like it and plays like it for a week or two
until it wears and then the shit slows down like house cloth.
The only way you can really tell is to have a pro like me inspect it,
or be there when it's put on and during the install, look under the
edges, it is labeled, 860 or 760 which is then folded
under the rails to never be seen again.
There is no substitute for real simonis, the cloth of champions like
me.
