Well, 2nd night on TV. Big upset is the Pearl gets nailed. His
comments were great. Sezs everyone beats him, called himself a loser,
and said he can add a woman to his resume. He did play bad from what
little they showed him playing, but, we have all been there, some more
often than others:-)
I have no idea why they are playing on slow cloth, nobody likes slow
cloth, so why use it? Simones seems to be a large pool supporter, and
them using and bragging about the slow cloth seems rather asinine to me.
Secondly, what's up with the foul for touching the ball with your stick
when placing the CB after ball in hand? What a stupid rule. Caught
Fisher and Strickland with that dumb ass rule, probably a ton of others
got burned by it I'm sure.
Personally, I'm enjoying watching the worlds greatest 9 ballers make the
exact same mistakes I chastise myself for making. Good to see the best
have brain farts just like the rest of us.

I thought that rule applied only to using the tip, not the side of the
shaft.

I think you just answered the question in paragraph 1, Jack. :-) I'd
like to see the pros play on real, beaten-up bar boxes occasionally,
just to watch 'em get robbed like the rest of us ordinary mortals.
As for touching the cue ball with your stick to position it for a BIH
shot, I've always felt the various rules that permit it as long as the
movement doesn't "look like a stroke" were stupid. It's just begging
for arguments. Use your hand, carefully.

Hijack <~~~~joke
It was interesting to watch for sure. It seems I can tell who plays
8 ball and who doesn't. I would bet that Bustamonte obviously plays
much more 8 ball than the others. He played good shot selection, didn't
try to run out every rack even tho he may have had a makable shot, and
played a good ( not great) safety. All the others tried to run every
rack and missed what they thought were easy shots.
I can't remember who it was, but one guy ran about 6 racks
straight. Do you remember? Anybody?
Mike Sigel said it best. Eightball is harder. <~~starting another
flame war :-)
It is nice to see they don't shoot that much better than the rest
of us on less than perfect equipment. They could still whip me, just
not as bad as I originally thought.
