Fairly predictable. Flavell starts ahead of Rawlinson at lock, which is a
testament to the Irish success at the lineout really, as I'm sure the
Cartel would have appreciated the luxury of resting Jack.
Kaino comes in in a traditional blindside role for Holah in what amounts
to an admission that the two-openside experiment from last week was a
failure.
Nonu makes way for Laulala which is fair enough; Nanu's had plenty of
bites of the cherry and it's time for someone else to be given a go
though, if MacDonald wasn't on his way to BA, Muliaina would most likely
have been given the job.

Relatively small and not exactly a test veteran lineout player, up against
a bloody good Ireland lineout.

Specialist No 6(?) but completely untried test player.

Minimal tests (one?) playing against possibly the best centre in the world.

Hmmm, Ireland should still be fancying their chances here. We got out of
jail last weekend but it's going to be another torrid one I reckon. As for
our boys, time to step up and show that you're worth the effort I guess.
Should be interesting, but maybe not pretty.

He has played a few minutes of test Rugby but IMO didnt look great.
Prefer Newby to start here. (Actually prefer Colins but that aint going to
happen)

The AB's need to be a lot more focused on the gain line this game
I would expect the loosies have been told they need to step up at breakdown

Defensively no better than Nonu and not as powerful.
However he does offer better distribution and has also played all year
outside Mauger which might help.
We have soem great attacking centres but dont seem to have any who can
defend like Tana did at international level.
So one of these guys is going to have to develop that defence by playing ...
and hes got a year to sort it out

I expect Ireland to be better .. they also missed kicks and spilled ball at
critical times.
AB's will have to play tighter and more acurately to win the next one.

Suggests that Flavell is shorter than both of them. But 1cm is feck all
really. The irish locks give up a few of kgs in weight though which is
more significant.
