Vancouver BC Golfers [message #1043597] Do, 01 Juni 2006 09:49

I am guessing after seeing the MojoRadio thread that there are indeed some
local golfers on this Newsgroup.

The friend I usually golf with has a schedule that is not really allowing us
to get out much.

I'm wondering if there is any locals here who would consider getting
together occasionally for a round?

I am an 18HC but improving daily. Mostly just consistancy problems, and
focus. I have good contact on the ball, so I'm not a hacker really.

I'm in my mid 30's and really easy going.

I typically play at Northview, SwanEset, and sometimes Guilford when going
out last minute.

feel free to mail me at roleksy at telus dot net or leave me a reply here.

cheers
RJ

I'm sorry but there are no easy going golfers allowed in RSG and RSG
golfers will not play with anyone who is easy going, so beat it

Wife and I went your direction to celebrate our anniversary in April.
One VBC-RSG'r got wind of it and put together a rather pleasant
afternoon / dinner outing. Debbie and I got in a great round of golf
and made several friends in the process.

Short answer - Show up at Border Wars and you'll have no worries.

There is a fairly substantial core group here in Vancouver (including
myself) that would be happy to meet and get in a round. I'm a South Surrey
guy myself, so I play Northview as much as anywhere. Peace Portal is my last
minute option.

I miss McKeachie & Foxman in the morning. Hope they land somewhere in
this market.

RJ, I see you've already lined up a game, hope you can make it to Border
Wars as well. If you're looking for a regular Saturday game, the men's
club at Greenacres has room. If you want to watch seniors grind for $3,
this is the place. There's a good mix of golfers of all ages and
handicaps. http://www.greenacresgolfcourse.com/
Email me at trueputtz at yahoo.com for more info.

I'd not even heard of that golf course yet.
bookmarked. :)

I didn't get the email regarding borderwars still. If someone could forward
me the info, I'd appreciate it.

I don't think there was an email. Check out the Bob Cotter post here titled
"Ann: RSG-Border Wars".

used to this course in the winter, then a dry course with wide fairways
in the summer is a treat.

Duh... I included the 11 an saw tonight when I got home from work that
it bounced. Sent it again.

.... but, just in case <g>...

Announcing RSG - Border Wars... an event to be held in late July and
early August in the Pacific Northwest.

All rounds will be optional - though there will be some beer matches,
perhaps a Ryder Cup style competition, some skins madness... whatever
suits the crowd who decide to participate.

The first rounds will be held on Friday and Saturday, July 28 and 29, at
the Sunshine Coast Golf Club (http://www.sunshinecoastgolf.com). On
Sunday, the venue moves to the Lower Mainland where we hope to play
morning and afternoon rounds on the Canadian side of the border.
Monday's games will centre around Bellingham Washington, probably
playing Shuksan (http://www.shuksangolf.com) and Homestead
(http://www.homesteadfarmsgolf.com/).

Please let me know ASAP if you are interested in participating in this
event. Based on some discussion at RSG-NW it looks like we have 10
golfers confirmed at this moment.

Cheers... Bob
