Looks like a deal has been cut between Duke and GMU for a game this
December. Of course it will have a nice TV contract with it.
Say what you want about Duke - they do not dodge good teams.

You got that right -- we make sure their time at the top
is over (witness the Morrison-less Zags). Plus they will
all be home games. The only reason Duke had the #7 SOS
this year is because UNC didn't suck like they were supposed
to. Bastids!
Well, that and we only play Clemson once.

Hey it works. Witness the Camby-less U-Game series.

Lewis and Skinn were Seniors and won't be on the team next year. Dream
on about how good GMU will be next season.

I am a Tar Heels fan, and hope that George Mason gets creamated. I not only
am bitter at the season ending on their part to us, but that they kept on
going to the Final Four. The resulting naseau was just too much to bear, all
the media fawning all over them like they invented the wheel or something,
like basketball never exited until cuddly sickening George Mason showed us
how!
They are right up there with Wake Forest in the "wanna-be" category, and I
hope Duke shows them how a REAL basketball team plays. The lesser of two
evils, by far.

Man, you are just a font of bitterness. "Resulting nausea" over a
minor basketball non-power making the Final Four for the first time
ever? Get a little perspective. Did you cheer when Bambi's mother got
shot? Were you happy that Sophie was forced to make her choice?

Typical Carolina fan believing that only they have a birthright to
success and the media gushing over them.
As a Duke fan - I loved the GMU success and the story that followed it.
Excellence - no matter what color it wears - is wonderful.
I hope that GMU give Duke a battle - and if GMU wins it would not be the
end of the world for Duke - big deal - just one game. Meanwhile UNC will
line up its usual row of patsies - and expect the press and the world to
kiss their "noblis oblige butt."
What GMU did was truly amazing. How do you attract such talent to a
small commuter school in Fairfax VA? How do you sustain such a run.
College basketball and this nation needs more heroes like GMU.
Carolina fans should be more concerned with Old Roy paying players and
other rule violations. The real Coach of the Year with to ASU - and you
guys ate your own.

Me--I hope someone pulls a "USC point guard" on them. That USC point guard
didn't deserve such a fate, but those little piddly pip-squeak wanna-bes
trampling over the UConn's and such that DO have a birthright? I say,
someone bust a cap.

OK, so that was tasteless. I admit it--after all, after reading what
happened to the USC point guard, it was like--gee, that stinks, why do
things like that have to happen? Heck, I had a tinge in my stomach that was
saying loud & clear that even if that did happen to (say) a Wake Forest
player, you'd be a putz to feel anything but sorrow about it.
But all I'm saying is I hate how when some team like George Mason pulls off
what they did, then it doesn't matter what else happens--that is all that is
remembered. I guarantee you that far more people will gush about this years
later than they will about how Billy Donovan finally broke through, and
how--egads--the players actually came back to try & do it all again. Even if
they repeat, GM will STILL be the 2006 story bar none. It just gets
nauseating. I'd feel almost--notice I said almost--as nauseated about it
even if Carolina wasn't one of the teams who had their season stolen from
them by a group of pretenders.
I wanted to see UConn win it all if not Carolina, heck I'd rather seen Duke
win it all than George Mason. At least Duke isn't some mid-major wanna-be
who doesn't belong. I'm glad Florida won the title because they're the ones
who pounded them back into reality--and good for them.

Yea, because lord knows Duke needs an RPI boost.

No, but I cheered when Godzilla stepped on Bambi.

It wouldn't have been much of a story if she hadn't been.
