The AQB Super 14 Rugby ratings have been updated to 17 May 2006.

Plenty of drama in the last round of the Super 14 as the Brumbies
lost, then first the Sharks and then the Bulls claimed the fourth Semi
Final spot. The Brumbies fell one place to fifth in the Super 14
ratings after their 3-33 loss to the top-ranked Crusaders. The
Crusaders will host the seventh-ranked Bulls in the second Semi Final
this weekend, after the Bulls beat the 11th-ranked Stormers 43-10 in
Cape Town and moved up one place. The Hurricanes moved ahead of the
Waratahs into second after beating them 19-14 in Sydney. The two teams
match up again in the first Semi Final in Wellington on Friday. The
Chiefs finished the season strong, up one place to fourth after their
away win over the Blues, who fell one place to eighth.

The ratings list at 17 May 2006 is:

Good work Myk. Any table that gets the Force off the bottom gets my vote!

So how do you rate their first season Rick? Pretty good for a scratch
side, surely?

Average to fair.

It is a tough comp and it is asking a lot of any new side to form the
kind of combinations that will bring success quickly. They did not
recruit strongly enough in the backs and were always going to be
vulnerable in the midfield.

But for a horrendous string of injuries, I think we could have finished
with wins over the Stormers, the Bulls and the Cats, and possibly the Reds.

But the team did not make the progress expected either, and has only
itself to blame for that. They made a lot of silly mistakes, conceded
far too many penalties and took naive options at times -- beyond what is
acceptable even with mitigating circumstances.

heh. Actually, the Force's good form towards the end of the season
(higher implicit weighting due to recency) and away from home (bonus
ratings points for winning away from home) were enough to put them
ahead of the Cats, despite fewer wins and fewer points.
