How are Helen-whatsit and N hyphen K defensively? Turunui never struck
me as that solid, and presumably the Canes will continue their usual
tactic if running the ball at the midfield channels with big dark
fellows.

Defense is one of Halangahu's stronger points and he's big enough to
handle himself. What scares me more is his tendency sometimes to look a
bit like Lavea, both being flat-footed with the ball in hand and the hair
thingy. :-)
Norton-Knight is built like a rake but is deceptively strong and has an
excellent technique.
Turinui is the defensive organiser in a backline that has, up until the
last couple of games, had the best defensive record of any team's this
year, nothing shabby about his defense.

I am not happy with them. The backline failed because the outside backs and
fullback had no spark and I dont blame Rogers for that. Putting a rookie in
is a huge mistake and if they really need to mover Rogers then put
Norton-Knight there. Hopefully Rogers will inject himself into the backline
better then Hewit did and may prove a trump card but not happy with the
backline.

If you consider Halagahu, Tuqiri and Turinui could also be classed as dark
fellows too, then it should be a close game :)

I feel this is wrong. Put Sam N-K in at ten - good vision, excellent
running lines, deceptive pace and strength and a bullet like pass. Put
Berne at 12 with Halangahu on the bench.

I really rate Norton-Knight, shades of Larkham's former (and
occasionally, current) brilliance. The same gangly, deceptive frame that
seems to have far too many elbows, disguising a decent bit of pace and
an ability to run some great attacking lines & angles.
Hopefully he doesn't go the way of Larkham, who always seems to be held
together with strapping tape and looks like a marionette with several
broken strings, or a stork with toothpicks through its wings, whichever
is the more awkward...
I take it he is a contender for a Wallabies jersey (NK, not Larkham)?

Ahmen.

Bern at 12 would be a defensive risk against the Hurricanes mid-field but,
on balance, if that's the price for NK at 10, so be it.
But it isn't going to happen, and Halangahu will do a reasonable job. Watch
for Rogers and Tiquiri attacking down the left and finally giving the backs
some potency.

He didn't do that badly last week. What I wouldn't give to have Grey
back for this match...

Or current form, Staniforth.

Well, it turns out Helen was a bit tackle-shy.
