Official Presentation of the UKSF Superheores Trophy [message #1017657] Tue, 09 May 2006 01:04
Paul C
For the second successive season I take great pleasure in presenting
the UKSF Superheores Trophy, lovingly crafted by Joe, to Steve H
manager of Magic Sprouts.

If the Sprouts were to win again next season then they would, of
course, be entitled to retain the trophy in perpetuity.

A speech would be appreciated, although Steve H may just wish to
re-post last season's acceptance speech.

Cunt.

It's all been said before, but I think it can best be summed up in the
immortal words of just about everyone in this froup - Cunt.

Ok, it's only one word, but that's even better summing up, surely.

Bloody fine effort, Steve. Boring as all fuck for those of us you left
in your dust quite some time ago, but then your ridiculous lead break
allowed some of the camera time to be used on the lesser lights and
I'm sure the viewing public appreciated that.

You've done yourself proud and showed them RSSers a thing or three
into the bargain. <insert applause here>

Well if the names on the FA Cup say something, this one must too. Is
Conlan not a real fan then?

Of course no one ever remembers who came second, so let's all raise
our glasses to old whatshisface. He's had more seconds than Sir Alex
would tolerate.

Finally, a tremendous thank you to Paul. It's about the hundredth time
he's run all these auxiliary comps that we all look forward to every
season. Long may his organizational skills reign.

Hmm. Last year if i recall, i was half way round the world and my
message was:
---

Thank you one and all.. I've only just managed to ge to an internet
cafe to check out all my stuff.

Truly i am a god.

BTW, i _really_ don't recommend sun stroke and blisters on the
shoulders. Its not nice.

Anyway, gotta go. Back in a couple of weeks.
---

While i still agree with all the sentiments stated, it may not be
fitting..

Anyway.. Thanks as always to your good self, Paul for the magnificent
running of the league. Thanks also go to all the others that bothered
turning up for what, tbh, was a damn good season. Its a shame i ducked
out of the UKSF FA Cup early, as a second Treble in a row might have
really consolidated my place in the history of UKSF. But a League and
Champions league double is still a nice feeling. Hopefully now i can
step out from the overwhelming shadow of the man they call Mikey.

I would also like to to pour scorn on RSS for being shit and letting a
member of the ultimate pisstakingly unhelpful froup show them how to
play Y!FF. No longer do we stand in their soccerball shadows..

I'd also like to thank Jose for the selection help he gave me over the
season, even if his ideas started to get a bit weird towards the end,
leaving things a bit closer than i would have liked. 29 points in the
last week left it a bit tight.

Joe, Joe, Joe. Will you forever be the bridesmaid? I surely hope not.
Your time will most definately come.. Perhaps next year will be the
Jellies crowning glory.

Its just a pity i'm so fucking shit at the proper FF, i could do with
winning some of that nice prize money they offer.

Heh. Conlan is a fan mostly of her own team. At least at player level.
Hence she's not too bad at scores or league positions, but when it comes
to picking players from an entire league she really sux donkee dix

AWTWP.

I sux teh big donkee dix at this gheyme. Especially when I can't even pick
from my own team because they're wrongly playing in a different leaguecunt
or something.

I'm sure most of us can relate to this.

The Magic Sprouts are playing in a league of their own.

[That's as good as it looks like getting Steve]

Heh. I guess I'd have taken a little more time over it if I knew it would
get used every year. That the most prestigious Youksef comp of all should
deliver such a tiny trophy seems wrong somehow. It's grown on me these
days, though. Small but perfectly formed, like Poleson's Penis.

Maybe someone else should design and build the next one. I'm crap at these
fixed-width games.

I hope not, that speech was rubbish.

> Cunt.

Much as I would love to AWTWP, I just can't. Steve deserves this, he's
comfortably outplayed the lot of us once again and I feel compelled to
extend my warmest congratulations.

Congratulations, Sprouty. Very well played. Thanks also to Crankshaw for
organising all the comps'n'shit once more, this year has given me greater
respect for those who run comps. Except Vicky, obviously.

Ffs. What I would give to get my hands on this bastard trophy. Still,
there's always next year.

I've a good feeling about next year.

No, really.

Same here. My form over the last seven or eight weeks was really
quite impressive, even if I say so myself, I averaged around 114
points a week which, if I could have managed that over the
entire season I'd have won the whole Yahoo FF thing by about 200
or 300 points.

Of course, all this means is that Yahoo will probably change the
rules around again and it'll be back to the drawing board.

Not a patch on the other one I'm afraid. Too much Madonna and not
enough Geena Davis or something. Sorry.

My form was consistently inconsistent throughout the season, sometimes
scoring massively bigly and making real headway on first, others more like a
rubbish mingmong with 28 or something. The annoying thing this year, I
didn't really make any massive fuck-ups or decision that I later realised
were a bit daft, which I have in previous years. I think I played about as
well as I can.

All of which means, of course, that in my six years or whatever of Youksef,
I've still only ever actually won two trophies, those being the Yahoo CL and
FA Cup three years ago.

I'm feeling a bit of pressure from the Jewellers' board right now, which is
perhaps unfair given their status as nobodies with no stadium and no fans
when I took over.

How quickly expectations rise.

> Of course, all this means is that Yahoo will probably change the

They can change the rules as much as they fucking like, I'll still probably
come second.
