Fred Hill was able to convince Quincy Douby to stay at Rutgers when he
became an assistant there last year. He wasn't able to do it again. The
prolific scorer, who put his name into the NBA Draft last month, signed with
an agent yesterday and can no longer go back to Rutgers.

How do you think the Recruiting Artist Otherwise Known As Fred Hill
will do? In related news, apparently Gonzo has pissed off, in order,
Jay Wright, Norm, Hill, and now Tim Welsh, and the season is still
months away. Should be fun.

I think Rutgers is a pretty touigh sell. OTOH Gonzo's going to be a force at
SH. First Harvey commits and now Larry Davis is visiting. (Although
evidently SJU was Davis's first choice if they had a scholarship.) Bottom
line though, the more publicity metro basketball gets the better it is for
SJU, because they are NYC basketball, more or less. FWIW I would have
welcomed BG at St Johns, although obviously I'm pretty happy with what we
got.

Why do you say that? Douby was incredible when I saw him. I can't
think of a more under-rated player last year, except perhaps the kid
from Washington. I saw him in the BE Tourney live and he had nearly 30
pts in the first half against 'Nova, and most of the shots were
unbelievable.

Because I'm tired of him lighting up the Johnnies for 38 twice a year.

He'll be in the NBA ten years after that dope reddick is an assistant coach
at Michigan.

Hope you have some high-test line on that reel, you might land a
trophy-sized Witzkefish on this deep sea fishing trip.
