Snaq did not get even one 5th place vote, which is exactly as it
should be.
He is such a joke. Most dominant player of all time my ass. What a
joke.
Now he will lead the Heat down in flames to the Nets.

Well, he domiates your thoughts because this is all you post about.

Good observation. It's my current obsession. I guess I get a little
too much pleasure out of watching an over-hyped boob fall on his ass.
Maybe I need more variety in my life. Still, I can hardly wait for the
game tonite. I'm hoping for some really good glares from the bench. A
postgame interview about how his teammates didn't make him look good
would just be icing on the cake. Stay tuned (as you seem to be). ;-)

I feel the same way about Kobe Bryant, so I understand. ;-)

But at least Bryant has real basketball skills. He's clearly in the
top 5% all time. Snaq is not even an average basketball player. All he
is is big. If he were an average-sized center, he probably would not
be starting. If he were an average-sized forward, he probably wouldn't
be in the NBA. He can't shoot from beyond 5', can't hit free throws,
and can't play defense other than to clog up the middle and make the
game less interesting.

That's kind of the whole point with Shaq, and always has been.
His size is a big part of his game. And you can't say that in his
prime he didn't have skill. His size and ability made him almost
unstoppable for most teams. He is the MAIN reason the Lakers
had three back-to-back championships 2000/2001/2002...and
he's also the MAIN reason that Miami is still in the hunt this season...
and the Lakers aren't, IMO.
Don't get me wrong, I also think Shaq is a big goon, but you can't
deny that he has skill and was the leading scorer in the NBA during
his prime for a reason. The guy has been a monster in the NBA. But
frankly, I'll be happy to see his reign come to an end soon.
I'll admit, despite all the reasons I can't stand Kobe Bryant, he does at
least have skill, just like Shaq does. If they had stayed together,
they would probably both still be winning championships...or at least
making legitimate runs at them.

It's lame to be ragging on Shaq now that he's old, slow, and
overweight. Isn't that kinda like kicking a person when he's down? Or
beating on a dead horse?
Shaq was great when he was in his prime. Nobody could stop him. The
league had to change the rules just to control him. Shaq was arrogant,
but he always backed it up with results. Now that he'd old and slow,
all the haters are coming out of the woodwork. It's pretty lame, IMHO.
He came into three different lottery franchises, and turned all three
into legitimate title contenders overnight. In much of his 14 years in
the league, any team with Shaq on it is almost guaranteed to be
legitimate championship contenders. Meanwhile, so-called "superstar"
guys like Kobe and TMac and Iverson and Vince Carter and about dozen
other hotshots are having trouble staying afloat in the playoff race
year to year on a consistent basis. I'm not a fan of Shaq, but now
that he's old and slow people should just lay off him and respect all
the accomplishments he's had in a great career.

Maybe, so what?

Snaq was never great. He was just big. He's helpless beyond a 5'
circle from the basket and always has been. He commits offensive fouls
on most of his shots.

Again, his #1 (and probably #2 and #3) "talents" are size.

Then how come Snaq, the most dominant player ever to play the game,
has been MVP only once? And this year, he didn't get a single vote --
not evne for 5th place! The guiy is and alwasy ahs been a complete
joke.

Actually, the league had to change the rules to market him. The no charge
zone was implemented specifically to prevent Shaq from fouling out.
Completely different from changing the basket interference rules to control
the stilt.
