The Rose Award goes to Pedro Feliz of the San Francisco Giants, who
went three-for-five with five RBI and scored two runs in a 10-1 win
over the Houston Astros.

Barry Bonds doubled and walked in four plate appearances.

I'm sure he's thrilled by the news. He's likely written his mother and told
him of this prestigious honor.

In a related matter,

I would like to announce the Rose Award Committee has won the coveted PSA
(Pretentious Spam Award). This award is bestowed when appropriate for
distributing SPAM that is pointlessly self-serving. The award is a bright
shiny mirror. Recipients can gaze in wonder at their own self-important
reflections without commercial interruption and more importantly, without
interrupting anyone from anything of greater importance, such as a pressing
need to rearrange one's sock drawer. Of course, the PSA will be delivered
postage due.

More properly known as the R. Hager Award, which recognizes the
tiniest shit on usenet in any given day.

Bugger off.

cordially, even to trash like R. Hager,

Trash? Certainly you can do better than that? Oh, are you on the Rose Award
Committee? That could explain a lot.

The slime will shit on anybody in its attempt to bring everyone down to its
level. A google search of its many user names will reveal a pattern of
mental illness spread all over usenet in a variety of newsgroups. It is
universally hated, reviled and a source of disgust to all who encounter it.

This thing is barely human and should be ignored.

It appears that Pete Rose betted on the Reds 4,256 times and went
bankrupt. Then Rose met Rosecomm in jail and they had sex 4,256 times.
Why did you think he named himself Rosecomm4256? Because he swallowed
Rose's cum 4,256 times!

Maybe I'd be less put off by this award if the posts came with some
background. Maybe just a note at that bottom that starts off, "The Rose
Award was created to..." and then lists what merits an award, who the
committee is and what their qualifications are.

I have a feeling they are trying to get name recognition so they can sell
sponserships or something. If that is the goal, a website that showed clips
of the award winner for the day would generate much more interest than a
text message.
