While Kendall may have a legitimate beef, nevertheless he's got to
realize he elevated the confrontation by charging the mound, right? I
mean words are words, fistcuffs are a whole 'nother deal.

I agree. He, at the very least, elevated it. Besides, as long as he
wears elbow-armor at the plate, his words about toughness are hollow.

While umpires can't read a batter or pitcher's mind...MLB should get on
top of this issue of batter's box armor and require medical approval
for elbow/arm pads, and not from the 'team doctor' either.
If player's can't move up on and hang over the plate, 1. They won't get
hit as often. 2. Maybe that would go towards bringing the balance (i.e.
power) back to some normalcy.
