This is hero worship at it's very worst. A grown men with a
footballer's name tattooed on his arm? I bet that guy is a middle aged
virgin.
"It hasn't been like this since the death of Diana. Britain has been
suffering from a national nervous breakdown ever since David Beckham,
handsome icon of the Manchester United soccer team, announced last week
that he was leaving to play for Real Madrid. The Sun, the most popular
tabloid, set up a Beckham "grief helpline" and claims it has been
swamped with calls from distressed fans. One caller said he was
considering suicide, while several confessed that they were so upset
they couldn't perform in bed. A man who has "Beckham" tattooed on his
arm threatened to cut if off. "I cried myself to sleep after hearing
the awful news," said grandmother Mary Richards, age 85. A London
cabby, ever the voice of reason, asked, "Has the world gone mad? He's
only a footballer!" But he was mistaken. A footballer is the least of
what David Beckham is."

A 16 week vacation at Parris Island would do these wimps a world of
good.

I did, me and 12 other lads were with an Special Operations Detachment
in Klina in the late 90's under command of an Italian officer assigned
by NATO to assist an Air Control crew operating on the outskirts of
Kosovo.
Americans had more idealogical reasons to go to Vietnam than I did with
Bosnia. Another fine mess NATO in typical cavalier fashion gets us all
into and then young men from several countries get dragged into the
mess due to agreements to provide NATO with manpower and hardware and
there we went to meet Mr Depleted uranium.

It's appalling that they didn't exempt you from service after all the
medals you won in WW2 when you single-handedly defeated that German
tank battalion.
