The Bulls were beaten comprehensively by the Crusaders 35-17...the
scoreline probably flattering the Bulls a bit as they scored 2 late
consolation tries and trailed at one stage 35-3....
The Crusaders looked sublime and man-for-man completely outplayed the
Bulls.
As is always the case with the Bulls, year after f*cking year, they
have no 'Plan-B' and seem tactically inept.
Technically skill wise the Saders where man-for-man about 5 times
better than the Bulls - there was simply no comparison. When the Bulls
can't bully other teams into submission and their forwards can't
dominate, then they get creamed.... All the opposition needs is to get
parity up-front and the Bulls are stuffed.
I dont expect anything will ever change in Pretoria....not unless there
is a complete cultural change (and that needs to extend beyond
rugby)....because the players just dont seem to be able to think fast
enough or creatively enough. Every couple of years the Bulls will hit a
good patch and dominate with their forwards, but they will be easy to
work out and so will come unstuck against smarter teams.
They will never be real contenders in the Super 14 unless this changes.
The Bulls seem to be able to out-muscle other SA teams in the domestic
Currie Cup...but watching the game last night I get the sense that the
Kiwi's in particular are man-for-man actually stronger and tougher
despite being often 'smaller' than the big Bulls players. I mean Dan
Carter's tackle on I think it was Jacque Cronje...a guy he probably
gives 20kg's away to, was a typical example. And the supposedly 'big'
Bulls forwards were constantly smashed back by the 'Saders players on
one-on-one situations.

Yes the Bulls where beaten comprehensively. The problem is that they
can't lift there sights higher than being able to beat the Sharks.
There season is based on whether they have or haven't been able to beat
the Sharks that year. That's about as high as they can lift there game.
Time and time again, the Bulls will play like crap for the entire
season, but let that one game come up again the Sharks and there whole
season is rated a success if they are able to beat them. It doesn't
matter a damn to them that that one bruising game, in which they throw
there bodies and souls on the line, will ruin the chances of the the
Sharks for a home semi-final, they still feel satisfied that the season
was a success because they managed to beat the Sharks just once. They
are an absolutely useless team who can barely pull up there socks,
unless they have there home crowd shouting at them from the sidelines
and telling them what to do. Well done the Bulls, you have yet again
managed to screwup bigtime.

They would do better with a real no 9.
Also if they were to start practising against real people instead of
tackle bags.
Poor old Jacques Cronje. All year he got used to the tackle bags not
taking the ball away from him. And then the Crusaders' no 10 does it!

Shesh that sounds reminescent of the Queensland Reds a few seasons ago.
Nowadays a season is a success if the Force only poach a few good
players.
