Hello, college basketball fans!
They revealed the pairings for the 2006 ACC/Big 10 challenge.

The matchups can be seen in part as a preseason ranking for the teams.
If you are playing Duke, you have a lot to look forward to next season.
By contrast, if you're playing Clemson, it's gonna be a long season.
The highlight game appears to be Ohio State vs North Carolina. Ohio
State overachieved to a regular season championship last season and
appears to have a lot coming back. We all know UNC is predicted to have
a great year.
Duke is playing Indiana. Either they don't think Duke will be that good
or Indiana will be better than I think they will.
Illinois gets Maryland, a team that has missed the last two NCAA
tournaments. Either Maryland will be better or Illinois will struggle
making the NCAA's.
Boston College has joined the big time. They are playing Michigan
State.
How about Florida State vs Wisconsin? FSU hasn't been in the NCAA's
since 1998 and Wisconsin hasn't not been in the NCAA's since 1998. I
still want to see a FSU/PSU matchup in the challenge. The only way to
get Penn State or Florida State fans even remotely excited is to match
them vs. a top football rival.
Iowa vs Virginia Tech? Iowa won the Big 10 tournament. This is a fair
matchup ... in football maybe.
Keep in mind that the team you play gets included in your RPI. It's the
team from the opposite conference you want to see go undefeated in
their conference. So, go Terps!
Does this mean Minnesota will finish last in the Big 10?
