Pitcher Chris Bootcheck of the Angels strained his hamstring running
onto the field during a fight win a game between the A's and the
Angels.
FWIW, he had an ERA of 54.00 at the time.
He is now on the 15 day DL.

I would have just sent him back down to AAA or AA than put him on the DL.

A player on the DL gets service time towards arbitration and free agency so
sending down injured players is going to piss off the union.

But, from the team perspective that's better. How is the union going to
argue if they send him down and then DL him in the minors? They may not
like it, but there's no rule against it. With a 54 ERA, there's pretty
good justification (even if it's based on one outing with 2 runs in 1/3
inning).

Yes, but he won't so why not just ignore him? If you allow these
guys to get a foothold in this ng, it will be destroyed.
Please, use your head. He has been asked nicely to post properly
and he refuses, for no legitimate reason, to do so. What does that
tell you about him?
cordially, as always,
