Anybody know who won & placed in the OCMA 8-ball tournament held in Canton,
OhioCivic Center last week? Our team (Fiddlestix - Moecia) finished a
disappointing 4th in the AA bracket. Thanks in advance,

I accidentally sent this response to Hank only and he replied with an email.
I am reposting here for anybody who is interested. He asked a couple
questions which I am responding to.
Don't get me fuming all over again. Last year we finished 3d in the AA and
we brought back our same team. There was a rule change in August, 2005 that
says teams that finished real high puts everybody on that team as a Master
Intermediate player regardless of ability. They now have just two divisions
at state level: The Open division and Master divsion (just like before).
Further, this year's teams can have only three Master Intermediate players
in the AA tournament. That would be all fine and dandy if they had told us
in August, 2005. We could have done what everybody else did and find two,
good, non-Master Intermediate players to join the team. Instead, we were
informed on Monday, four days before the event started, that we would have
to break up and form two teams. We were able to find sanctioned players to
fill two teams but we were not loaded. In retrospect, we were extremely
pleased to finish 4th, but we would have rather played with guys we played
with all year. My buddy asked me how we would finish before the first match
started. I was hoping for the top 20 so I am pleased. The two matches we
lost, weren't decided until the second to the last game.
Also, our last match finished at 3:00AM which also fumes me. They brought
back 16 Open teams for Sunday's play but forced the 3rd and 4th Place Master
teams to play the night before. (We were scheduled to start at 10:30PM but
didn't actually start until 1:30AM.) It seems to me they could have left one
more table and allowed us to play the match that morning. I am the second
youngest player on our team at 55 years old. Normally, I'm in my pajamas
eating Cherios by 11:00 so you can imagine how we all felt at that time. I
give their communiction skills and tournament a D this year.
