More RSB History-From the Archives [message #1003442] Fri, 05 May 2006 21:58

There have been some hilarious (unintentionally of course) characters
that have briefly lit up the RSB screen in the past. Most have flared up
and lasted only a month or too then were gone for good.

I was browsing through google today and came up with one Joseph Bartlo,
who posted 2 months in 2001, quit and came back for 2 more months in
2002. This fellow was quite a treat as some of you may remember.

Then there was a guy named Lepheaux in 2000 for only 3months.

Anybody remember any other meteorite strikes from the past that are
worthy of a google search?

I highly recommend reading this Bartlo guy. He felt he was unjustly
picked on all the time. Not just here but everywhere he went and he
posted weather prognostications to a weather newsgroup where he felt
no-one appreciated him. The guy was great.

I recall having some fun with Joesph, The Misunderstood Weather boy.

I think there may have also been a guy named Pearl, that was a hoot.

But of course for pure entertainment, John "Woofmeister" Collins was
really in a class by himself :-)

Wasn't he Jam's boyfriend before Keith came along?

I did a search on Pearl and came up with a pearl-o, but he didn't seem
to have any major problems.

As for Bartlo, you kept calling him Joe and for some reason that just
sent him off. He also constantly mentioned that he had run 100 in 14.1
many times and had beat Ronnie Wiseman at nineball. He was supposed to
play Donald sometime for $500 but that never came off.

The funniest stuff, though, was his insistence that his particular
playing style required him to reshape his tip every day or so. He put so
much spin on the ball the that he would miscue a lot and needed to
constantly pick his tip, which wore them down. When it was suggested
that no-one else has that problem so it might be his stroke he blew up.
Then he ranted about how everywhere he goes he runs into *pests* that
like to pick on him and that no-one liked him or some such and ended by
threatening to kill or beat up you, Lou.

Too funny!

Just for fun I searched to see if he was still in operation and found he is.

His style of posting is reminiscent of someone who posts allot here and
he still has people picking on him.

Joe was a regular laugh riot for the duration of his brief visit and
foreshadowed the idiocy that was to come here later.
