What great hall of fame fighter did Duran beat as a lightweight?

No lightweight wanted anything to do with Aaron Pryor, that is why he moved up to Junior welterweight. Aaron Pryor definitely punched harder than Frankie Randal. Thomas Hearns, Antonio Cervantes, Dujuan Johnson, or Alexis Arguello could not hurt Aaron Pryor. No lightweight or Junior welterweight could hurt Aaron Pryor.

Duran beat a great hall of famer by the name of Ken Buchanan to win the
lightweight crown. To tell the truth, I don't think Duran ever beat
anyone again at lightweight who was as great as Buchanan, except maybe
Esteban Dejesus.

Duran did beat some very tough lightweights (Edwin Viruet, Vilomar
Fernandez, Ray Lampkin, Saoul Mamby). But the competition at
lightweight in the 1970s is nothing like it has been in recent years.

Duran is an all time great lightweight.
