I'm fine. Still wondering what the fuck happened there. Apart from some
swiss-cheese defence on both sides and not one try scoring opportunity
being missed. Oh, apart from the one Voyce spilled.
And Mike Catt showing what a loss to English Rugby it will be when he
has to call it a day.

South Africa have already had to deal with losing him. Believe me, it eases

Hope so. I'm concerned about who of the current crop of London Irish
centres will step up. And two tackles he made yesterday which he really
had no right to make...

I think the management at London Irish can take some credit for his
recent return to form. I don't think the approach/atmosphere at Bath
were working for him.

Catty was apparently offered a coaching role at Bath when Ashton goes,
then Irish offered a large sum to tempt him into another season. It
will be interesting to see what happens.

Same problem with Barkley had. Connolly played very much a territory
and pressure game based on the forward power a la England. Catt was
getting very little ball, and when he did was under instruction to make
ground. His kicking improved but he was bored. I for one was gutted to
see him go.

That's the way I saw it and I don't think he was any too happy to leave
either. I get the feeling there were some personal differences behind it
as well, perhaps he and Connolly just didn't get on.

I know, it's just fortunate for Irish that he came to us when
circumstances made him feel he had no option but to leave.

I went to Kingsholm once myself. Noisy mob, but they quietened down once a
Canterbury side containing no All Blacks had put 70 points on them. I
expect it was mostly the result of forward passes.

That it will. If we can keep him for another year, I'll be happy.

You are a filthy disgusting man to think of such things TGP. I am a pure
soul and would never have thought of something so perverted. At least, I
think I'm pure, or maybe it was just "cleansed" after my Guinness enema.
Went through so fast that I didn't even get the "Johnny Cash" from all
the chillies in the spicy shrimp soup.

I got roped into other things and, to my eternal shame, not being able
to go to the match missed the first half on TV, clicking on the TV to
hear one of the commentators declare it was the best half of
premiership rugby all season.
So I dutifully set the video to record the repeat later. And that
failed too.
So I'm pretty happy.
Congratulations to Irish though. You can't argue with an attacking
performance of that quality.

A bugger eh. Appparently you can get it on dvd if you want. Hmmm, OK,
maybe not.

I think it was a combination of it all coming together - for both sides
not just Irish - and sloppy defense.
I can't see where Edwards gets his five interceptions from though.

No, I saw a very digested highlights last night and I can't either. He
is right that some of those tries were impossible to organise a defence
for, though.

Further proof that the GP is nothing but powderpuff basketball-rugby.

Certainly, the Shaw turnover try was pretty much in that class as was
Ojo's. Having said that, there were two distinct try scoring
opportunities Mike Catt snuffed out that would have made a huge
difference to the game.
And on that subject, I'm rather glad to see that the old fella has
signed for another year :))
