Bye Larder, thanks for 2003. Bye Lydon, you were a great player but
alas a shite coach.

Interesting Dave Reddin has been moved. I'm not aware of any
longstanding concerns over the players' fitness or conditioning?

Hodgson aside, I wasn't aware of any kicking problems either

Simon Hardy has visited the USA a number of times. He was interested is
comparing NFL players who *snap* the ball to the punter and rugby
players who throw the ball into the lineout. There are some
simalarities...

Apart from Thompson obviously... Sounds as if Reddin will still be
England's specialist fitness coach, but will take on other
responsibilities as well - maybe working more closely with the clubs
and academies to coordinate the conditioning of the top players better?

Think Alred has been doing a lot of the team's mental preparation as
well which hasn't been so great. If he doesn't take up his offer to go
help NZ, I'm sure he'll still work with a lot of the top English
kickers at a club level at least.

I don't follow. The snapper delivers the ball to the punter backwards
through his legs. Also, the snap is kept low, and should hit the punter
right in the hands.
If there is a comparison with the lineout, it would be the quarterback
who throws the forward pass. In fact this style of lineout throw was
introduced into Rugby in the late 1950's, when Heisman Trophy winner
(awarded to the best college football player in the US) Pete Dawkins
came to Oxford and played for the Dark Blues on the wing.

I see an "Elite Rugby Director" is to be appointed above Robinson, to
"assist Robinson with team selection and take on some of his
administrative responsibilities".
Wasn't this the potential shortcoming of Robinson originally pointed out
-- namely, that as coach under SCW he was good/okay, but that he didn't
necessarily have the managerial expertise?

Hardy has visited northeast a number of times. He visited NY Giants
camp and spent time with snapper coach to discuss coaching methods
relating to accuracy, timing, grip etc.
