Firstly, didnt watch the Bath game so am only going from what the
papers have said, but how much of a punch up was the mass brawl? Was
the game that shite? Who were the main protagonists. I see Danny 'I
should live in China' Grewcock (slant at the amount of yellow the guy
gets and seems to like) got his marching orders again but what started
it off? General shit play and frustration? Or something else.
Enlighten me please...

Wasn't all that to be honest. In the old days it wouldn't have even got
a mention. Grewcock doesn't get that many yellows in all but high
profile games, but that's been done to death. This time, he was sent
off for getting gouged by August, and then trying to split up a fight
(Balan and Thion on Beattie). Of course, this involved throwing a
cracking punch into Balans eye, which is why he got a yellow. He was
playing superbly (apart from a stupid 3 point offside) prior to that.

I'm not the biggest Grewcock fan on the planet, but I have to say that
I thought the guy got a bit of a bum deal. The gouging MUST fetch a
citing. As for the yellow... he was going in to help a team mate who
was getting punched from all sides. Now it's all very well and good
saying that you have to leave discipline to the referee, but generally
I find that a team mate coming to my aid when I'm getting my head
pounded is by and large A GOOD THING. If that team mate happens to be
six five and black belt in Kyokashinkai, all the better.
Of course Grewcock (am I allowed to call him Danny, Rob / GP?), could
have just pinned Balan's arms to his sides, but he would have picked up
a couple of pearlers from one of the other BO forwards, all of whom
were spoiling for it at this point. So, I think the ref should have
shown a bit of common and issued warnings all round, with a penalty to
Bath.

Soooooooo, apart from being stupidly offside, smacking someone in the
eye and involving himself in someone else's brawl he had a good game?
I dunno Simon, I mean I can see why you get exasperated but I'd have to
say it's for the wrong reasons. Grewcock is clearly stupid.

oh without a doubt he's not the sharpest tool in the box. The punch was
in the brawl. If the ref had had more control it would not have been
necessary, but he didn't. Personally I don't think he did anything
wrong. If the ref is not going to stop you from getting a good illegal
pasting, then your second row should. If it hadn't have been Grewcock,
it would probably have been words all round, and a Bath penalty.

Ah, but he has lovely legs which makes him "a nice boy". Apparently.
