This is Southern Methodist University, I learned by searching Wikipedia.
I'm happy for him. I am a Tar Heel fan 100%, but I do support Matt Doherty
also, and am glad that we was able to hop-up a level after a year at Florida
Atlantic. It's also kind of cool in that I barely 3 months ago relocated
about 2 hours from Dallas, TX, where SMU is located. Not to say I
necessarily will see any of the games, but it's cool anyway.
Happy for him. Again, a 100% Tar Heel fan, but happy for him.

I am sorry, but Matt Doherty is by far the worst coach that the
University of North Carolina has ever seen. I am glad that he is
succeeding to the best of his ability, but he is by no means of the
same caliber that a true Tarheel coach is.

Try not to drool when you explain what a "true Tarheel coach" is.

He recruited the team that won a national championship.

drooling over something, and recognizing its greatness are two
completely unrelated actions. I simply recognize the greatness of the
University of North Carolina.

Seeing that someone is good at basketball is something anyone can do.
He only got those players because of the reputation that Dean Smith and
Bill Guthridge left behind. Roy Williams is the man that took that
talent and go something done.

Wipe your chin, then explain to Shitski why Quinn Snyder is not
a "true Blue Devil". Or something.

Dean Smith nothin'. It was all the Gut -- remember, he built the 2002
powerhouse. Jason Capel, Kris Lang and friends didn't come to UNC
uninvited -- Gut brought 'em there.

He got lucky to get the three underclass stars of McCants, May, and Felton.
McCants and Felton were UNC's to lose. All any UNC coach had to do was
offer. That's not recruiting. May was also handed to UNC by a father who
adored Dean Smith (second only to Bobby Knight, but May couldn't go to
Texas Tech as they had no schollies and likely for other reasons). Again,
all Doherty had to do was send the paperwork. Noel *asked* to walk-on to
the basketball team, and after showing he could play, Doherty agreed.
Marvin Williams was recruited by Roy Williams.
IMHO, the only players Doherty deserves "credit" for on that championship
roster are Manuel, Scott, and Jawad Williams. Sure, you can only give
credit to Roy for recruiting Marvin Williams, but Doherty doesn't get
credit for any great recruiting moves that put together a national
championship squad.

Tedward has a special keyboard that get slippery and wet if you drool
while posting.
Is there really any such thing as a "true Tarheel coach"?
What about a "true UCLA coach"?
They are still searching for the "true NC State coach".
Grasshopper, it's luck if you get such a good run at the top that you
forget about the
impermanance of it all.
Impermanence (Sanskrit: =E0=A4=85=E0=A4=A8=E0=A4=BF=E0=A4=A4=E0=A5=8D=E0=A4=
=AF anitya; P=C4=81li
=E0=A4=85=E0=A4=A8=E0=A4=BF=E0=A4=9A=E0=A5=8D=E0=A4=9A anicca; Tibetan: mi =
rtag pa; Chinese: =E7=84=A1=E5=B8=B8
w=C3=BAch=C3=A1ng; Japanese: =E7=84=A1=E5=B8=B8 muj=C5=8D) is one of the es=
sential doctrines or
the three marks of Buddhism. According to it, everything is constantly
in flux. This changing flux excludes nothing--even planets, stars and
gods. This is embodied in human life in the aging process and the cycle
of birth and rebirth (samsara), and in any experience of loss; because
things are impermanent, attachment to them is futile, and leads to
suffering. The only true end of anicca is Nirvana. Nirvana is the one
Reality which knows of no change, decay or death. In the Mahayana
Mahaparinirvana Sutra, all compounded, constructed things and states
are said to be "impermanent" - but to say the same of Nirvana and the
Buddha (the personalisation of Nirvana) is to commit a gross error in
understanding and to fall into harmful misperception of Truth (as
discussed in the Mahaparinirvana Sutra).
Anicca is intimately associated with the doctrine of anatta, according
to which things have no fixed nature.

No way. They screwed the Holstein. And the little tight Jersey if they
were lucky.
And, Indiana is still looking for the "true Indiana coach"
Heck I can only name about 4 or 5 schools that have their true coach.
Duke, UNC, UCONN, Florida, George Mason.
Someday Duke will be looking for its true coach...
