Hi,
Although Raymond Domenech says that everything can change til june, his
pre-list for the friendly France-Slovakia on the 1st of march will certainly
look like the definite WC list. Of course, the English Premier League
supplies several players, who are :
> Jean-Alain Boumsong (Newcastle)
He's probably a Domenech's relative. His last matches with the national team
were close to a football slaughter.
> William Gallas (Chelsea)
He's used backwards, on the left wing. But he has no left-foot. Average
performances with Les Bleus.
> Claude Makelele (Chelsea)
Superb athlete. When used alone as defensive mid-fielder (without Vieira) he
runs for three and grabs every single ball in his area. He also allows the
other midfielders to create and attack more. Absolutely necessary.
> Thierry Henry (Arsenal),
He's so incredible and efficient with Arsenal but so uneffective with the
national team. This is understandable : the whole team of Arsenal plays for
him whereas Zidane and Dhorasoo always slow down the game speed. Trézeguet
is our real striker. Henry needs space but our organisation 4-4-2 prevents
him frome using that space and his natural speed. He's more reliable on a
4-5-1 organisation. But Henry scored a vital goal in Eire, qualifying Les
Bleus.
> Louis Saha (Manchester United)
Not very famous. But his matches with the national team were interesting and
he scored.
Robert Pires will certainly never play for the national french team, unless
Domenech goes away : both have very bad relationships.
