Right, we're back to square one. We started with the following:
Daniel, Ethan, Gregory, Michael, Stephen.
Which got ruled out for "everyone called Daniel is a cunt", "Ok as a
middle name, but not a first name", "Gregory is a fat kid who sits at
the back of class and eats paste", "there are too many Michaels already"
and "Goan the Hoops".
Other names ruled out for "we already have them in the family" are:
Tom, Thomas, Kevin, James, Keith, Paul, Peter, Phillip, Nick, Nicholas,
Richard, David, Matthew, Andrew, Christopher, Benjamin ...
(I may have missed some)
Ruled out cos of friend's, friends' babies,, pets etc:
Martin, Joshua, Samuel, Nathaniel, John, Bruce, George, Harry, Fishy.
And names since ruled out just on a "no" basis:
Scott, Gabriel, Charles, Joseph, Kullrad
(also likely to be a longer list, but I've forgotten some)
I think that leaves Simon. Maybe I should call him Stan, and make it
short for Istanbul.
Anyone got any other suggestions?

Oh yeah, Raphael, Leonardo, Donatello and Michaelangelo all got ruled
out at the football.
Also on the 'ruled out' list are Leonard, Luke and Mark.

For most parents there's a feelgood factor with their own names so
consider names that look or sound like one or more of the parents ie Ben
and Vicky - Becky or Vince.

Simon sounds like a marketing cunt/sales tosser - e.g. 'Hi guys, I'm Simon
*false smile*'
Do you really want to inflict such wankery on the poor child?
Also avoid other cunty names, like Ian, Gary and Gavin, obviously.

Excellent quip, Kully.
Have you seen the new Channel 4 series The IT Crowd?
Well worth watching, I've seen the first 4 episodes, just watched No.04 and it
had some very chucklesome moments in it.

Alexander.
Can't go wrong with Alexander -- it's the name of conquerors, ponces,
and politicians. Sometimes all three in one.
One name I really like, but don't have the courage to name my son
that, is Ethan.
Try it out, you might start a trend for Ethans in Harlow.
P.S.: DOH! I just read the top bit, where you mention Ethan, and see
you and I are ODDLY ODDLY in agreement yet again.
That's my choice right there.
Ethan Alexander Holmes, towels reading EAH. Not bad.

I have to admit, I've always admired you guys for bravely using the name
'Jizzcock' which so many parents would have shied away from.

Keep an eye on the boingboing bloat, they post updates and links when a new
episode is released. I get the episodes from those links or via the newsgroups.
Al mentioned torrents but I tried using torrents some months ago and I fucking
hated giving back the same amount I downloaded, on a limited cap it just isn't
worthwhile.
In the last few hours I've grabbed 7 episodes of one series and 4 of another for
a total of 1.87gb and that was all it cost me in bandwidth using newsgroups,
using torrents would've doubled it, been many times slower and munched what
remains of my cap. If I had unlimited bandwidth I'd definitely use torrents
though.
btw, the two series are pretty good:

both links are worksafe.

That's two WWE references in one night Kully, I didn't have you down as a
wrestling fan. It still has a strange grip on me (har-har) from when I used
to watch T'Ultimate Warrior benchpress Hulk Hogan.
Mind you, they don't seem to have those matches where they had a superstar
against some pointless-looking berk in blue undies who was 100% guaranteed
to have his arse (fakely) kicked and was usually called 'Mike Baxter from
Wanksville, Tennessee'.
Every match these days is a 'Ladders Triple Threat Deathcage Bukkake
Eliminator'.
