In Chapel Hill, we could watch Syracuse-Georgetown in HD, but not
UNC-UVa. They also persisted in giving the score of the previous
Virginia game as 99-64. Amateurish.

There is still no standard method (AFAIK) for distributing HD
programming to a network of syndicated affiliates. The OTA networks
can do it (after a good deal of trial and error on their part), the
cable networks (national like ESPN and regional like NESN) can do it,
because it's basically just the cable operators passing on the signal
unmodified, but there's no standard way for distributing HD broadcasts
to a group of independent stations like the RJ broadcast. So those of
you in ACC territory are screwed.
Here in Boston, the non-BC games (at least through today) are being
shown in HD on ESPN, while the RJ telecast of the BC game is being
picked up by a local station. Not sure about tomorrow, though, or
whether it depends on BC playing in the final.

Both the ACC and NCAA finals will be Duke v. UNC. It came
to me in a dream.
-Johnny (And it even had a happy ending.)
