The NBA named Elton Brand (LAC) and LeBron James (Cle) as Players of the
Week. Brand averaged 24.3 points and 8 rebounds as the Clippers went 4-0.
James averaged 33.8 points, 8.5 rebounds, and 7.5 assists as Cleveland
went 4-0.
Utah will retired Karl Malone's #32 on March 23 during the game vs
Washington.
Emeka Okafor (Cha) is expected to be out 5 more weeks with a sprained
right ankle.
Charlotte activated Kareem Rush and placed Keith Bogans on IL with a
sprained right knee.
Minnesota activated Marcus Banks and placed Ronald Dupree on IL.
Houston activated Yao Ming and placed Jon Barry on IL with a calf injury.
San Antonio activated Sean Marks and Melvin Sanders and placed Robert
Horry (abdominal strain) and Nick Van Exel (elbow) on IL.
Utah activated Greg Ostertag and placed Robert Whaley on IL with torn
cartilage in his right knee. Utah ended Ostertag's suspension after 1
game missed.
