Hire Richie Williams! Team is off the bottom of the table. Swap Youri

simple enough. Sigi OTOH just doesn't have the horses.

Good MLS showcase game for the Club America fans that turned out for
the doubleheader. Bradley deserves credit for the Chivas turn around.
Probably too late for serious consideration for the USMNT gig but
should at least rate a call from Sunil Gulati. If you're looking for an
offensive minded future USA left back Jonathan Bornstein might be your
player. He was shifted to striker(where he played at UCLA) for this
game and put in two. One time hot prospect Terry Cooke has been reborn
in Colorado.

It's easy to sympathize with all of the Crew's injuries. At the same
time, Sigi has fallen into some terrible kneejerk coaching. By making
so many line-up and personnel changes, he is neither improving nor
solidifying his team.

It's been widely reported that Bornstein was a forward at UCLA, but I
believe that he actually played more often in wide midfield, which is
where I saw him line up for them.

No, his story is one of rags to somewhat nicer rags.
He spent his first two years of college at Cal Poly Pomona, a D2 school
whose soccer team wouldn't rank among the country's Top 250. But after
his sophomore year, UCLA's coach resigned, and their new guy offered
Bornstein a chance.

He certainly looked the part last night-would have been a hat trick but
for the woodwork. His last goal was a real cracker. And a very
entertaining match in general, to boot. Even ol' Clint Mathis put Cook's
wonderful cross away nicely.

The Crew have assembled an impressive bunch of no-names...their game
against DCU last week was the biggest MLS mismatch I've seen in a long
time, it really should have been more like 7-0 than 3-2. Despite
allowing few goals so far, DCU's defense is still very shaky IMO, and
they could stop getting competent goalkeeping at any moment.

That was pretty amazing, yes. He looked so nonchalant, too. Just a nice lob
pass perfectly into the far upper corner.

Does the heat excuse RSL's failure to contain an isolated forward in
stoppage time? I wouldn't say so. Ballouchy, the player who should've
tracked him, was a substitute and should've been fresh. Talley, the
defender caught a yard or two out of position, ended up running *more*
as a result. And as for Pope's half-hearted attempt at a tackle, let's
just hope he doesn't try that against Chelsea.
