Stop Cheating in Football [message #1065902] Sun, 16 July 2006 22:19
Geeera
To: Football Federations Worldwide

Like me, maybe you recently watched while the captains of quarterfinal
teams in the FIFA World Cup read out grand statements requesting all
football supporters renounce racism. I ask what credibility do
footballers have for such grand gestures; most are nothing more then
cheats and liars?

For the very same players then went on to captain teams intent on using
every dirty trick they could get away with to cheat their way into
winning a 'game' of football. It seems in football now each game is
simply acting and cheating. We must make a stand to restore the pride
of this great game and stop cheating. Be it simulation, exaggeration or
knowingly making false claims to gain a dishonest advantage.

This is no longer a case of the odd dive to gain a free kick. Players
will lift their feet off the ground at the slightest hand on their
shoulder. We see players fall to the ground holding their face when
it's clear they were never touched in that area. Players pretend to
be injured just to hold the play up and often turn to the ref and
simulate the showing of red or yellow card because they want to gain
that advantage over the other team. Time as come to stop this as it's
already gone too far, referees are often fooled into giving decisions
that effect the result and ruin the game as a spectacle.

I petition that nation federations of football (soccer) like the
English FA should make the players sign a fair play policy statement
and then be strong enough to enforce such a policy to drive this
cheating out of the game from the highest level, even if it means star
players don't play for their country.

Introducing such a policy will make the players think about their
actions if those actions would result in a loss of their position in
the national team. This could be done without much fuss at
international level by asking each player to agree a national policy of
respect for the game if they wish to represent their country.

Sincerely,

The Undersigned

Snip

Thank goodness I didn't reort to cheating and lying when I stuck 3 our
of 5 past Pat Cuff very recently. I simply placed the ball on the spot,
and all I asken in return was that Cuffy (Jim Platt was busy that day)
simply picked the fuckers out of the net.

Simple transactions, and I saw no need to wish him an ugly death or
anything as naughty as that. Mind you, we're not all onion bag
specialists like me, and I can see why the other fuckers may be tempted
to cheat.

Yes, I've been meaning to talk to you about this. That onion bag you
sold me: the holes are way to big and the onions keep falling out. And
it's bloody vast. How many onions do you think I've got?

How many?

Warmer, but hardly tropical. Perhaps the heat you might feel from a
partially functioning radiator at a distance of eleven feet.

I don't think he did, really, I think he was just specifying.
You wouldn't want to end up in the wrong froup, after all.

You're probably right. It was just that little bit about 'childish twats,
pricks, cunts and whatever' that hinted to me that he might be putting us
down. I was probably being too sensitive.

God no, I wandered into alt.depression one day to laugh at the saddo's
and found that Ben had managed to get himself trapped in there somehow.
There's a lesson in that for all of us I believe.

sounds pretty fair and accurate to me. YMMV.

Oh so it was /you/ who let him out after all the trouble I went to to
get him to visit unsuspectingly after telling him it was a coffee bar
in Liverpool Street. Bastard.

That doesn't make him better than us.

I only gave him advice on how he can make his life all wonderful'n'shit.
How was I supposed to know he was going to take it?
